I had previously been to this place 3 years ago. The last time this place came up on my social media feed was when that family attacked that poor waiter because they didn't know how to queue up. 🤦🏽♂️
I have seen the CCTV footage from another angle. The waiter was innocent before that family pounced on him like a bunch of hyenas. I pray a police report is in due progress.
Thanks to that publicity I went to this establishment again with the missus on a non EOTHO day.
We ordered:
BBQ Chicken Wings Chicken Saute SAUTE Lamb Steak (Medium well-done) with chips and creamy mushroom Strawberry Mojioto Jug of tap water with ICE
We sat near the front next to the window with a nice view of the front. We received our food in good time, the chicken wings came first as our starters. They were very tasty with and without the BBQ sauce. It's a shame they dont do wings just on their own as they taste great without the BBQ sauce added to them. For next time I will ask for BBQ wings without the BBQ sauce 😂
The wife had the Chicken Saute whilst I went for the lamb steak.
Although I loved my medium well-done lamb steak I also wanted the Chicken Saute all to myself. If I could I would have demolished both dishes leaving the missus to starve, but I couldn't do that!
Well at least now I know what I will be getting next time!
I'm a foodie, I like to eat a lot (unfortunately) and I always complain about portion sizes. Honestly, hand on my heart Le Madison were very generous with their portions. Both the size of the lamb steak and the Chicken Saute we received were huge!
The chips may look normal but looks can be deceiving! The chips were on point and very tasty with some skin left to absorb the salt and pepper to give it that extra flavour. You could also tell the chips were fried in fresh oil. 👌🏽
Lamb steak was nice and tender and easy to cut despite it being medium well done. Usually the meat is either too rough or to raw. My steak was cooked to perfection which both me and my wife were able to enjoy with the creamy mushroom sauce.
Last but not least, I never like 'drinking' whilst eating food and even then it has to be water for me. I've had too many mojitos in my lifetime so I let the missus order a strawberry mojito, again it was a massive jug. I had a sip which turned into 2, 3, 4, 5+ sips! I could tell it was a very good quality mojioto where they got the mix on point. You can actually taste the strawberry and mint all at the same time. In some places the lime/lemonade could be overpowering and a disproportionate amount added. But here I have to put my hands down for Le Madisons quality and attention to detail in making their Mojiotos. Honestly it was so good and so big both of us couldn't finish it so we had it for takeaway with some extra ice added onto it which lasted us into the night.
I have attached all the images including the receipt for proof of our visit.
If you look at my profile, rarely do I give out 5 stars or spend time writing quality reviews. This place is definitely the rolls royce of east london albeit Whitechapel which deserves a visit.
Tasty food, good value for money and good attention to detail when making their drinks. The waiters are receptive and our payment was taken as soon as I requested it. Their bathrooms and toilets were also clean and immaculate.
We shall be visiting you again soon Le Madison! We also wish all the best and a swift recovery for...
Read moreBearing in mind it was Ramadan so everyone’s a bit on edge. I had ordered the mixed Grill which includes: lamb strips, 2chicken wing, chicken steak, 2 lamb chops & Mexican rice with a side of salad. I had requested the staff if there was an option to have lamb steak instead of the chicken steak however the response was quite abrupt & dismissive in tone. The response was “no messing around today”. I can understand it’s Ramadan, they are busy. I have no issues with the answer being no, I just felt really horrible about requesting something, like I did something wrong- which I shouldn’t be made to feel. Now about the food, the lamb chops were really good it was soft and had great flavour. The small chicken steak was very good- cooked properly & not dry! The lambs strips as you’ll see in the picture we’re quite thin, I couldn’t tell what they were till I took a bite (I assumed it would have been the lamb strips) however tasted good. The Mexican rice was super good- spicy just what I like 😁. The wing was good- although I think they put ketchup on top of my wing, maybe for design but I’m one of those people that likes their sauce on the side so I can dip 😬. My sister ordered the sirloin lamb steak at well done. I always order the sirloin lamb steak well done whenever I order any steaks (@jimmys @meat.co @secretgarden) So I have a few comparisons. Initially I was cutting the steak & struggled- I assumed it was the knife or my cutlery skills. The moment I started chewing, I instantly regretted it because I knew my options 1. Keep chewing for hours 2. Swallow and wish for the best that I don’t choke 3. Spit it out I chose the least painful option of spiting it out. My sister didn’t finish off her steak & shared it between us at the table: overall judgement was my sisters steak was very chewy. Everyone else who ordered a lamb steak - said they enjoyed their food. So it may have been my sister who was unlucky and as lovely as she is wasn’t complaining as she didn’t want to ruin anyone’s experience or discredit the hardworking people at @lemadison The strawberry Mojitos were completely forgotten & we had to remind them. We got the drinks after we finished eating. However we all enjoyed our drinks. They provided us with complimentary fruits- which they cut and prepared. I thought this was very kind and thoughtful. I think all other sides and drinks were good. I can’t this has been the best experience however I’m ruling it as one bad day- & will try going again after Ramadan. Hopefully the experience will be...

A real shame as I had a good experience first time round. I took advantage of a groupon offer which gave 52% off, ordered the T-bone steak again and made sure to emphasise I wanted medium rare as last time they cooked it well done even though I asked for medium rare. Even then the food tastes good with the peppercorn sauce. I thought i would try mushroom sauce this time which a mistake. It didn't taste as good. The T-bone steak this time was not cooked evenly and in places the meat was raw (red jelly texture), fat strands everywhere and the major thing was...it wasn't a T-bone cut. I don't know If they have a separate batch of meat for group on customers to save money on offers but the meat was a very cheap cut. Bland. I ended up heavily seasoning it myself with the salt and pepper they provide on tables. Service was on point like previous visit. Very attentive and considerate.
Overall, it may have been a good offer(pricing) but the food needs to be on point which is far more important for me then saving money. This unfortunately means it was my last visit and I won't be returning. Certainly as mentioned before the steak was the only thing that was going for them.

First visit: 4*
Review Location: Hidden away in a quiet back street of Whitechapel, East London. Visit: Wednesday evening. Very quiet, only 2 other tables of couples. Decor: Vibrant, colourful Ambience: Melow and peaceful Welcome was very good, although quiet they swiftly seated us with menus. I have never heard of this place prior to visit through a Google search trying to find a decent halal restaurant. Food: ordered t-bone steak medium rare, comes with hand cut chips, salad and veg. Flavours combined was very nice. A tad salty on the steak but not ruining. Size of steak was a little on the smaller side. Overall for location value for money. My niece ordered a burger. Found it quiet "mundane" as she described it. But both really enjoyed the hand cut chips. Really annoying is the board they serve it on. It is too small and impossible to eat from. Especially with the juices running away. For a place opened not so long ago I think they are deffo on to some thing. I have found a new place that I will be returning. Menu: simplistic and good.
Room for improvement but almost...
