Had a stop at the Premier Inn for one night as was visiting the Rugby Musuem the following day. Had a meal on the evening of 19th September 2025 and breakfast on the morning off the 20th. Manager on the night was fantastic and the staff, the dining section had a some empty tables which were table service and the manager was happy for us to use one without no table service as we wanted to order meals at the bar. Even moved table once as the first choice was by a strong blow air conditioning unit.

Positives: A seperate bar area and screens to watch any rugby games on as the womans semi-final between Canada and New Zealand and up and coming coverage of major rugby union competitions, a themed rugby dining area. Great staff on the night. Bet on rugby match days it is an excellent pub to attend for drinks.

Negatives: Unfortunately more negatives on this occassion. My partner had a burger and was poorly all the following day so had to cut short my 60th birthday present Twickenham tour. Definately gastro related 24 hour bug, feel it was cross contamination or poor food management in the kitchen on the 19th. Did not have the Salmon dish on the menu for me so had to go for gammon. No choice of bottled drinks as well. My partner was off the cider and had been enjoying WKD's for the past couple of weekends, but had no choice at The Winning Post. Like all pubs owned by Greene King, overpriced. Breakfast on the 20th: A very unenjoyable experience. The woman host, before we got to the table booking part, because their was 2 children in front of us, not ours, said we will have to pay for breakfast as a family of four was not booked. Had to clarify we were a couple with a pre-paid contienental breakfast, she apologised. Had to ask for extra condiments as the food table ones had been used, again the host responded with an uuugh when I approached her. Also, as we had a late food slot, Premier Inn's slots, and were the last ones, the host said I have to turn this dining room around within an hour for a Wake. The chef on the morning was wearing a t-shirt saying prefer dogs to people.

Premier Inn excellent location for Twickenham, but maybe eat elswhere than The Winning Post, which is a shame as it is ideally located for a stay at the...

I am a member of the TR register car club, my local group is Essex, but I like to meet up with the London group. They switched to the Winning Post from the Rose of York Richmond over a year ago. In my opinion a very big mistake..

I very rarely go because I am very busy, but on the 1st of February I went to meet them, I went straight to the bar to get a beer as usual, no staff behind the bar, when the bar maid turned up, I ordered my drink and she was complaining about a customer to a man, leaning on the bar saying he wanted his Peroni, topped up, probably to get another 50p worth of beer, no you pay for a pint not 3/4 of a pint and Peroni is £6.50 a pint not cheap, at the time I did not know which customer she was referring to.

I then went over to the London group and chatted with them, when I went to get my 2nd pint at the bar, I heard the same bar maid saying to the same man, still leaning on the bar they are the Triumph antiquated car club people so very rude, she did not know I was with them. I made it clear I was with the Triumph antiquated people as she referred to us and I would never come back to this pub again.

I went back to the London group and told them what I heard and then asked a member of the group Allan did you have a Peroni? Allans reply was yes, he was the customer who asked to have a pint of Peroni not 3/4 of a pint so what a rude person I will never ever step foot in that pub again. and I will avoid all green King pubs if possible, and hopefully when I told the group leader they will move the meeting location, but for me never again in that...

We just came back from the Winning Post. We are a family of four and we were pleased at the prospect of a good meal but we were very, very disappointed. We had four main meals. The mixed grill was average/below average, the Southern Fried Chicken Burger was average. We then had two Sirloin Steaks. We both thought at first they were just rough, very very hard to cut through even with steak knives. Started to eat but awful strong, odd taste and funny smell coming off the steak like poo. We started to struggle on eat a bit but got more and more revolting. Gave a piece to my husband to taste and he immediately said it was well off. We told told the waitress and she was moderately apologetic. She said what else would we like. We could not face any steak at all so had a chicken burger each. These were ok, burger ok but chips cold but we did not complain again as they will think we are just moaners and we are not. Service was awful. Not once were we asked if we wanted another drink, was the food ok. We asked for the bill, nothing, waited and waited so in the end got p....ed off and walked up to the front desk just to pay the bill to find the two, rotten, gone out steaks were still on our bill. Oh my God I said I am not paying for them, no way and the guy did take them off the bill. It was far too hot in there. They could not seem to adjust the heating either so as well as off foot we were boiling hot. We will not come again as we are local and can walk to it. Shame because if food good they...

I almost never wrote this review out of fear of the manager who is rarely seen but her scariness is felt. I decided it’s the right thing to do. The food has improved but still many of their dishes are dodgy. See the picture with food floating in red oil. The staff on the other hand are hit and miss. They employ some lovely people who don’t stay and it’s a shame, because they were nice people genuinely trying to do a good job. They soon feel the fear of working there, the toxicity and leave. The longer service staff are like a syndicate in the restaurant and are outwardly rude if you’re a nice kind and tolerate their rudeness. Sad but that’s how it is. I wouldn’t be surprised if head office see the long-standing staff as “untouchables” because they’ve been getting away with this behaviour for so long.

Me and my partner we're seated at our table by a member of staff called Beth who gave us abit of time to look at the menu my partner had a char grilled hunters chicken but im a bit indecisive when it comes to choosing food so i asked Beth what she would recommend out of two options of what i had in mind. Beth suggested the BBQ platter of which i decided to eat. Wow what a great choice that was the food was pipping hot and of great quality the meat fell right off the bones and had a fantastic flavour. Beth came over and checked that we both were okay for drinks and was very friendly throughout the evening its members of staff like Beth and the great food that the Winningpost has to offer that me and my partner will be back again thanks Beth for a great evening and we will see you guys again soon!
