I fancied some toast, so I looked on Google for nearby bakery's. There I found a place called Your Bakery. To me, that sounds like the best place to get some toast. Now, I'm certain the people working here are very nice people. I am sure of this. My issue is with how difficult it was to order 2 slices of toast. They seemed somewhat perplexed at my request of buttered toast. Even though they sell toast. Anyway, on the menu in front of me, under the section "extras," it listed toast as £1. I was charged £3 for 2 toast. The server based this on toast butter and jam being £3.95. So in his eyes he is sorting me out, but in essence is just over charging me. Secondly, they toasted the bread on a panini grill... It's a bakers that doesn't have a toaster! Thirdly, the toast, once it was lightly toasted, was served to me in a fancy box. I walked out of the store and opened the box to find the toast completely unbuttered but with two accompanying foil wraps of butter and a tiny little plastic spoon. I had to walk back in and ask them to butter my toast. They seemed perplexed again but carried out my request. The butter didn't cover the whole of the toast, leaving a dry border, which I don't expect from a bakery. Also, I asked for granary, they said they had granary, they gave me white bread.
Nice people, nice shop....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA small bakery on whitton high street. My partner and I decided to visit it past weekend as its outdoor sitting area is always buzzing with life. It left us with a positive possibility of grabbing a light snack and a drink before continuing on our merry shopping way. Barely any pastries were left (Sunday afternoon so completely understandable) so we opted out for just two coffees. The quality of the drinks was average but the girls at the till were lovely and served in a quick and polite manner. Unfortunately the glaring issue was the property manager who sat sulking at one of the main indoor seats on his laptop. His attitude could be felt even while sitting away and observing his interactions with the girls. His eyes scanning for any mistake inside the bar area as he continued to do jack all himself, not caring about helping, cleaning or possibly just getting to chat with the locals. Needless to say we won't be visiting again. A passionless leader leads to dull half done projects as is apparent by the...

My initial visit was after a friendās recommendation. I find this establishment slightly quirky in layout, with produce in the window behind you, and the server behind the till in front of you, who has to walk around to the window to bag up each item. Seems laborious and unnecessary, but itās not my shoe leather⦠This establishment has a boutique feel upon entry, and is a million miles from some of the other local cafes. While this is reflected in price, like so many other things in this world, what you pay is generally what you get. (Except the sausage roll, itās bland, quite small and overpriced).
On one of my visits my server refused cash payment, with a gentleman sat at a table drinking coffee interrupting my conversation with my server, (and by doing so I assume he is the business owner), asking if Iām aware of what it costs to deposit cash into the bank. This was an...
