Yun Hai Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in London

After 7 years of being a regular customer and ordering food at least once a week, I made a decision to stop ordering food from this restaurant permanently after my call to the restaurant yesterday.

I phoned the restaurant while driving to make a collection order. The lady (one of the owners) answered the phone. I asked if they had miso soup - she said no. I then asked if I can order a chicken broth soup. She responded with “no, we do not have that”. She then asked if I am a regular or a new customer. I said I am regular customer, to what her audacity to respond was “well, then you should know better what we have and do not have in our menu”. I said: “Exactly. This is how I know you had chicken soup.” Her response was: “you better call other restaurant” after what she hang up, before giving me a chance to place my usual order of Mongolian Lamb & Egg Fried Rice, which I’ve been ordering every week or so.

When I came home I looked up the menu and found there are several chicken soups. Chicken broth was not one of them, but instead of giving me the list of available chicken soups especially after I confirmed I was a regular customer, the owner chose to hang up on me in the most rude and disrespectful manner, sending my business elsewhere. I never felt this place had any decent customer service, but was happy to disregard it for the quality of food.

Just like that, long term customer forever lost.. Whilst its a real shame, my family won’t ever attend or order from this restaurant after such treatment. I hope you will read this review and treat your other customers with a bit more respect and friendliness whether...

I’ve been coming here for several years now and the food has always been amazing! The best Spice Salted Bean Curd (Tofu) I have ever had!!! All the variations of the Spice Salted dishes are super delicious, but the tofu is so light and crispy on the outside, yet so soft and fluffy on the inside. Caution! They come out pipping hot and if you’re like me, I cannot resist and burn my mouth every time 😅

Large variety on the menu with plenty of options! It’s always so hard to choose because there are so many great dishes! Mongolian Lamb another flavourful dish, Mussels in Black Bean Sauce, Soft Shell Crab with Ginger and Spring Onion, Mandarin Spare Ribs, Beef or Chicken Satay Skewers, Sizzling Fillet Steak Cantonese Style and so many more dishes are all so delicious! If you have space at the end, try the Fried Milk and Fritters with Ice Cream, a sweet little treat to end 😋

Portion sizes are generous and prices are great value for money! Lovely family-run business tucked away a short distance from Rotherhithe station. Service is always friendly and pleasant, the young waitress is attentive and so kind. I definitely...

5 stars service! Birthday meal at Yun Hai and we had an amazing time.

I came here during a weekday once for a takeaway and the food was good. This time I brought my family over for my brother's 30th birthday a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening. We were served by this lovely young waitress with exceptional manners who greeted us right away and seated us at a big table.

Not only did we get recommendations of the best dishes, she would come back occasionally to check on us and ask for any refills of our drinks and made conversation.

The food here was high quality. We ordered the mixed starter platter for 7 people and it tasted fantastic, especially the chicken wings and prawn toast were crispy and fresh.

The Mongolian lamb was to die for and the sizzling steak too. Highly recommend.

Generous portions for the prices of food. The dishes are big and filling.

My brother and family were impressed by the food and service. The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice too, clean and relaxing with music playing in the background. Accommodating for the kids too.
