We went here for Mother’s Day with my mum and mother in law. We have been to this branch before and other Zizi’s and had a really lovely meal but this was terrible!! The service was slow - some things we had to ask for 3 or 4 times before they arrived. My dad had to wait a long time for his starter, we’d all finished ours by the time he received it, and it was only because he asked that he did. When confronted about it the manager came and said “you only had to wait 4 minutes, I looked on the system!” But he was so rude about it and it was definitely more than 4 minutes! 3 of us ordered prawn starters that came with no sauce or salad that it was supposed to have. Some people’s mains came cold and we had to chase my niece’s meal, again the manager was rude when we asked him where it was… to top it all off we wanted to pay cash, and we were not made aware beforehand that they didn’t take cash, maybe just a reminder when booking or entering would be helpful? The sign at the front isn’t obvious or visible really. Everything took so long we were there for four hours and as we were getting ready to go the manager told us we had to leave. Believe me we were pleased to go! All in all it was the worst experience in a restaurant I’ve ever had. Yes, it’s a busy day but that in my opinion is no excuse! If you can’t talk to customers nicely or navigate a busy day then maybe managing a restaurant...
Read moreA Truly Lovely Experience at Zizzi Richmond!
We had such a wonderful time at Zizzi in Richmond — from the moment we stepped in, the cozy decor and warm atmosphere made us feel right at home. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a relaxing, inviting vibe. Everything from the lighting to the layout contributes to an effortlessly chilled ambiance.
The staff were incredibly welcoming, and a special shoutout goes to our fantastic waiter, Tony. He was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel even more personal.
We also have to commend Toby, the chef — his cooking is absolutely phenomenal. Hailing from Hong Kong, Toby’s skills in the kitchen are second to none. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. He’s genuinely one of the best chefs we’ve come across.
Even the little things stood out — the toilets were spotless and hygienic, which always adds peace of mind. Throughout the visit, I felt completely comfortable and cared for.
All in all, Zizzi Richmond delivers not just great food but a thoughtfully curated experience that makes you want to return. It was perfect for our...
Read moreFood was alright. Didn’t set my world on fire. Service would have been good however, (and It’s the same with a lot of ‘mainstream’ restaurants in London at the moment), table service is atrocious due to restaurants jumping on the delivery/take out bandwagon.
The poor staff looked like they were one shift away from a stress induced heart attack due to having to sort all these orders out (There were 3 waitresses). In the mean time, our orders and general service had huge gaps in between as the staff didn’t have the time or opportunity to see to its customers.
The tables in front and behind were all experiencing the same thing and the atmosphere turned sour.
This is by no means the staffs fault and they tried their hardest to do their job. I fully understand the reasons behind why these businesses decided to go this route during the pandemic but it’s affecting their core role as a restaurant now (don’t get me started on the thousands of people on mopeds, staring at their phones at 40mph, delivering these goods).
Zizzi’s, your either a restaurant or your takeaway. Your current model ain’t working.
I’ll avoid...
