As a frequent visitor of the Ivy Cafe’s and restaurant’s I can strongly say I enjoy my experiences dining with them. The Richmond Cafe is yet again another exceptional venue with beautiful dining room. The door staff did not give the most warm of welcomes nor offering to take our coats but happily rushed us to our table. The rest of the staff however made up for this with very attentive and knowledgable service. When asked the waiter recommended the Matcha Green Tea Cocktail of which was a fantastic way to start our meal. The food Is all very good with my personal highlights being the Truffle Arancini’s & Prawn cocktail. For the main course I had the skirt steak which was cooked perfectly and not over seasoned. I usually order the Fish cakes or Chicken Milanese which are both delicious dishes too however I always like to try something different. Overall I would recommend the Ivy to anyone looking to dine out in Richmond. I do however feel a complete menu refresh is due as for the last 2 years It has basically looked the same in all Ivy Cafe’s I have visited around the UK.

It was packed when we came in for our champagne lunch I was gifted. The staff was fast and attentive, but because it was so many people everywhere I felt like I was sitting in the lap of the person next to me and it was high volume of talking. A bit stressful especially with my social anxiety sometimes. Food was both good and not so good, the starter I chose was a burrata. The mashed peas wasn't my cup of tea but I suppose some people like it. Mashed peas has a weird grainy consistency and is not salty enough to accommodate the burrata. Classic juicy pesto is way better. The pine nuts on top was not necessary, they tasted like nothing. The "cracker" on top was hard to chew and old rubbery. The burrata itself was dry and more like a mozarella, I've had loads better in for example Ave Mario, Carlotta etc. The main was great and fresh, had pan fried salmon with creamed spinach. Yum. Desserts was not good, my wife had creme brulé and she was sad that the top wasn't cracking when she put her spoon through it. Very underwhelming. My dessert was berries with youghurt. The berries came straight from the freezer and was literally rock hard and like chewing ice. I was full at that point so I didn't complain because I didn't want the trouble of getting another dessert. The white chocolate sauce on top of the berries was great. All in all, if I'd paid the £120 for lunch myself I would have been quite unhappy with the standard of food served but was ok because it was a gift. The waiters was fantastic. Might be back to try dinner but I know many more places with a nicer atmosphere and food.

Yet another hit of excellent restaurants to dine at as that very special treat This being my second Ivy Brasserie the other being in Wimbledon Village . Admittedly on the expensive side particular if your meal includes a good bottle of wine In my case the occasion was a Christmas present from my elder brother. Decor entering ,was like a hall of eglomise mirrors come merino lightning stunning pictures on every wall draws you in . Well dressed dineing tables throughout Some in quiet corners and most attentive staff. Food outstanding having respectively a Start of souffle of wild mushrooms With main of ,tempura, squid tenticals along with wild foraged mushrooms and truffle linguine. Numbered desserts ,teas and coffee. Was delighted to discover that there is a disabled toilet available on the ground floor orherwise it's very steep steps up to the first floor not recommended iif like me you have difficulty First floor is where you'll also find private dining rooms to book eg celebratory Strongly advised to book ahead. Worst breakfast experience. Was told to sit at the bar and that someone would seat us shortly. After 60 minutes of waiting at the bar (with plenty of empty tables in the restaurant) and after asking 5 different people if we could please order our breakfast (all of which said they would be back shortly to take our order - and none of them did) we were eventually served after calling a sixth person and explaining how long we had waited. So after an 95 minute wait we get served a cold breakfast with bacon so crispy it was not even edible and mushrooms and tomato missing completely on one of our plates. And to make matters worse my husband and are both ill this afternoon so not sure how fresh or well cooked the items were. All in all a terrible breakfast with appalling service. And since we were left waiting at the bar for so long we couldn’t help but notice how disgustingly dusty and dirty the glasses are. Not what you would expect from the Ivy.

What can I say as a tourist about my experience with such a great restaurant like Ivy cafe in Richmond. Coz I can say much about it. The Ivy Cafe Richmond is a popular restaurant located in Richmond, London. The atmosphere is upscale and sophisticated, with an elegant decor and cozy seating areas. Although the tables is near each others but you will forget that as soon as your meal come and start tasting the great food. The menu is inspired by British cuisine with a modern twist, offering a variety of dishes to suit different tastes. One of the standout dishes on the menu is the Shepherd's Pie, which is both hearty and flavorful. Other popular dishes include the Ivy Burger, the Crispy Duck Salad, and the Chocolate Bombe dessert. I will praise the attentive and friendly service, as well as the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Overall, The Ivy Cafe Richmond is a great choice for a special occasion or a night out with friends or family.

For its price, the food was so-so, the service was exceptionally slow, beautiful interior design. We ordered a 2-course for lunch, and also a shepherd’s pie. I guess it wasn’t great we came in hungry. The appetiser (salad - soy with peanuts bang bang salad) came after 15 mins of ordering - which was acceptable. It were too much sauce though, really too accentuated, but the spice was just right. The Salmon steak that was supposed to come with the two course, came after 40 minutes of ordered, plus we had to remind the staff. (fine ingredients but cooked with an average style, wasn’t cooked hot) Also the Shepherd’s pie - beef and lamb and some potato on top, which wasn’t served hot enough. For its price, I really expected more. The interior is lovely though and they have private parties. The service is just so slow though I wouldn’t add anything extra to the order. People next to me asked the same, to hurry up with the dishes.
