I have been a long-standing customer at Leah’s in Maidstone. We’ve always accepted that it’s not the friendliest place or the cheapest, but the menu is decent, which is why we have continued to eat there over the years.
Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I feel compelled to leave this review.
On our last visit, I ordered a children’s roast for my 12-year-old daughter, as I regularly do. Due to a technical issue with their ordering system, we were mistakenly served an adult roast. When we raised this with staff, we were assured that we would not be charged for the adult portion, since it was an error on their side.
However, when it came time to pay, we were told we had to pay for the adult meal after all because the manager had insisted. We were given no choice but to pay for something we never ordered.
This experience was deeply disappointing, not only because of the error, but because of the way it was handled. As regular customers, we expected honesty and fair treatment. Instead, we felt dismissed and unfairly charged.
Sadly, after many years of visiting Leah’s and being loyal customers, this incident has left us unwilling to return.
Businesses make mistakes but it’s how those mistakes are resolved that matters. In this case, the service was NOT customer-focused, and we left feeling let down and...

Went here for a coffee with friends, the clientele were very unfriendly, like what was mothers doing in this establishment, making remarks and staring at us like we were aliens more, than 1 table and group of people may I add.
Man on piano playing really loud deliberately every time we was talking, and we was not talking loud. He even laughed when i realised he was playing on the piano as i thought it was music on a CD, thought it was werid he was playing really loud every time we was talking.
When leaving a customer told a baby to Shut Up.
Took 15 minuets to order a coffee as you can't order at till. No acknowlgement from staff even though 2 had passed us. Common sense when serving hot drinks not to pass over a pram with a baby in it, i had to stop her.
Safe to say I wont be visiting again, such a shame, felt so unwelcomed as a first time mum in the community I feel that this establishment should do it's best to invite and welcome all people. Not only would every table be filled, but it would put more money in your till, But you would also make many mums happy. Many coffee shops closing down and you could really corner the market if you wanted to.
A lovely meet up spolied by the...
Read moreThis is the second time I have been there in 2 years, and it was exactly the same as it was the first time... unwelcoming and disappointing.
We had stopped here to have a quick bite. We didn't realise we had to sit and wait for someone to come take our orders, and they pretty much scolded us for just standing looking at the menu and then it took them 10 minutes to come and take our drink orders.
The coffee was good, the vanilla milkshake was enjoyed by our toddler but the panini and baguette we ordered weren't worth our time, unsure how you can get a panini wrong but it was soggy and did not have much mozzarella in it... so felt like a waste of our money.
The service from the waitresses was not at all good enough, as they were not welcoming, not even a smile on entrance, nor were they friendly. It was clear their motto was to just get through the day.
We will not be recommending or returning to this establishment as they are unwelcoming and it is clear they will not improve and so they are not worth wasting our time or money with.
Truly disappointed with our time...
