Booked 2 pool tables on Saturday February 22nd, hoping to enjoy drinks, pool and great food (we had previously eaten here before on numerous occasions). However, when we went to order food, we were told there was no food being served as "we're manic" as staff walked away from us. A staff member then pointed at a food cart with foil wrapped burgers and chips. On spending £12 on both, we found the burger to be both luke warm and dry, whilst the chips were cold after being sitting in the car for who knows how long. Once again asked staff and were told, "that's all we got"! Gotta say, not the quality from Lavery's we've had before and would highly recommend Lavery's to improve, until then , it's a 2/10 until they get their act together, and a loss of 8 customers.

I visited here whilst staying in Belfast. It's a pretty big place which consists of 2 floors. They had some great music on Saturday night with a singer, but the best part was the pool tables (situated upstairs). There was around 20 or so, and they are in great condition to play on. There's also a massive projector screen for the premier league football as well as some smaller ones situated all round. Decent prices, and they also do a top pint of Guinness. We didn't eat here, unfortunately, but from what we did see, the food looked brilliant!! As an erdinger fan, it was great to see some different types that I've not seen before.

My team at work has recently booked Lavery's for two separate social events, and the service was brilliant at both. We reserved the back terrace, which was decorated with string lights, and part of the pool room. On the first occasion we ordered finger food platters, and the second we went for the buffet menu- the food was good both times, and meant that people could serve themselves and move around, rather than a sit-down dinner vibe. The Lavery's team were so easy to work with, we'll definitely consider coming back for another social!

Went on Thursday 11th April for comedy night and was absolutely disgusted by the way we were treated their was 10 of us that had all booked separate tables and chairs but we wanted to get sitting close to each other hence why we were there so early. when we’re getting seated their was a discussion with a member of staff that was showing us to are seats about other people that was along with us had a table booked and seats and could they be sat beside us she told us yes that was ok then other people came and sat at the table that was supposed to be kept. to which one of the girls that was with us approached the member of staff to say someone had sat at the table that was kept the member of staff cheekily said well go and tell them to move my friend said no it’s not my job to move them can you ask them the staff member wasn’t happy at having to do this. Then we went got are drinks sat down and the door staff came up and asked 6 of us to come with them we were lead to the front door and told we had to leave we all asked why what had we done and were told that a member of are group had been cheeky to a member of staff it was more the member of staff being cheeky but there wasn’t any point in saying anything. I then asked could I get a refund as I hadn’t done anything wrong and was losing my money I had paid the door staff told us to go online or ring up and speak to management and we would get a refund so we all left after the door staff went and got the rest of the people that was with us. There was no big scenes or arguing. I emailed the next day to see about a refund and got no reply so I rang and spoke to a manager and was told I wouldn’t get a refund I asked why and explained what had happened was told she would ring me back but never did so left it another day and rang again spoke with another manager who took my details again and told me they would ring me back I still haven’t heard anything back and also we were told when we got in that Colin geddis one of the comedians that was advertised to be there wasn’t going to be there so watch when booking your tickets that the comedian your wanting to see is...

I'm afraid this bar has changed. Other floors and recent woodworkers always catered for younger clientele but the ground floor public bar was always a proper bar, although covering racing and football, was suitable for those seeking a good pint and conversation. What used to be called rightly or wrongly a working man's bar. We went for a few pints and Christmas Dinner for a few oldtimers as in past years. Very disappointed pints of Guiness not of previous very high standard and food options and quality well below what we used to receive. I must say however that bar staff and managers were very pleasant and helpful in trying to resolve our difficulties and deserve great credit for finding us alternative seating. Still a good bar if interested in Thursday night European football or Racing but no longer my first choice for a few quiet pints, a bit of craic and a pleasant meal. This was last year's review above - booked a table again this year December 2024 and got a great table and staff again very helpful. I had the lasagna and it was excellent other dishes seemed fine although the scampi portion looked small. Pints were reasonable and atmosphere good. Football was on TV which suited me although craic was so good I only watched bits and having large screen beside us didnt affect enjoyable as bar staff kindly turned volume down on request. Late on we moved into woodworkers which was less packed for a quiet final drink and chat. Overall a really good night had by all and will...

Never again.

Regulars for over 6 years. Normally such a good place for tv footy, food & a an occaisional game of stick.

Shame we wont frequent this place again.

Rude & sarcastic staff and such poor service that ive never experienced in any other pub was back in july 2020. It resulted in one of our elderly members giving them a piece of his mind as to how we were being treated.

Tried to give this place a second chance and tonight found that hes still banned, 17 months after the event.

Even tho we booked a table for 5. Deposit paid, all showed up, except for tge banned vocal member, not a no show given these difficult times, no refund given!

Hospitality needs the public more so in these difficult times, just as much as we need to still feel welcomed in uncertain enviroments, without the need of poor service and sarcasm.

"Well aint you lot the last big spenders" Is not the best way to keep repeat business after throwing them out onto the street. Indeed we may just...
