Had a meal here with my boyfriend and his parents. He has recently relocated to the area and this place came recommended by a lot of the locals.
Being from Manchester, home of the famous Curry Mile, I went to this curry house with trepidation...
As advised, we booked as the good places in Malvern seem to book up very quickly!!! Having pre-dinner drinks we lost track of time and were running late. We called the restaurant to say we would be late, to which were were happily told that was no problem.
On arrival, the place was very busy and bustling! We weren't waiting too long to be seated. I was very impressed with the menu, especially the specials with treats such as venison sheekh kebabs and lobster curry.
There was quite a delay with the service, and had to remind the waiters that we ordered drinks when the popadoms (not included by the way) were dehydrating us.
The food was absolutely amazing. My lamb was tender with big pieces that melted in your mouth. Much better than the places I have been to in Manchester suprisingly!
As the restaurant got quieter the staff became much more attentive. They were also very aware that we had been neglected. They apologised and kept checking we were ok and at the end of the meal offered us complimentary coffees and desserts. We were too full for anymore and quite happy with the quality of the food and the apologies. Without asking they reduced the final bill for us by a considerable amount.
All in all very impressed and will definitely...
Read moreI eat a lot of Indian meals, with taste and quality varying quite a bit. But this was probably the best Indian I have ever had! As a starter I ordered Tandoori Chicken: Very attractive presentation and just the right meat size. Succulent inside, with perfect Tandoori flavours on the outside. One cannot do any better than this! For the mains, Chicken Vindaloo: I do like my curries hot, but depending on the restaurant, it is sometimes not spicy enough, whereas at other times you feel like the inside of your mouth is burning, so that you're unable to actually feel the taste. This Vindaloo was definitely spicy, make no mistake, but not in an overpowering sense. It was as if I could taste the individual mix of spices in a perfect blend. Very nice touch: The food warmer to keep the dishes hot at the table. I haven't seen these in a very long time, although this makes so much sense, as you want to enjoy a curry by eating slowly, and not having to hurry because it's getting cold. The naan: Absolute perfection, both in taste, consistency and also visually! Service was great. Nice atmosphere, on the formal side, but not stuffy at all. There is absolutely nothing I can fault in this...
Read moreA most relaxing , professionally served, and polite, service, to a three course meal. It had cost, however it was worth it and the straters were value for money on their own for a snack. Cobra Draught Beer and other lagers, on tap and bottle and quality wines were on offer also. a great evening out for a couple and well -behaved children . I seem to remember my brother had used this , and thoroughly enjoyed the experience many years ago. the current management have put a lot into it. Watch the staicase - but- there is a luxury lift and ' rest-room' (USA expression )facilities. There is a view of the path to the Abbey form the restaurant windows, with tables by them -a thouroughly anbient experience. Er - the bill? moderate for quality. -Thats up to you and how much you have . One main course is usually enough for me except when I'm hungry. Mild curries and English are on the menu . It is best to BOOK your visit. (Otherwise an active 'Henry' could be expressing his...
