A Review of ASK Italian in Great Malvern
My recent visit to ASK Italian in Great Malvern was a delightful experience from start to finish. Without a reservation, we arrived on a busy evening expecting to wait, but we were pleasantly surprised when we were seated immediately. This initial gesture set the tone for the rest of the evening, showcasing the restaurant’s efficiency and commitment to excellent customer service.
Our waitress, Jorja, was the highlight of the experience. From the moment she greeted us, her warm and friendly demeanor was apparent. She had a knack for engaging with everyone she served, making each table feel like they were her top priority. Jorja’s ability to balance professionalism with genuine friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere that enhanced our dining experience. It was clear she took pride in her role, and her positive energy was infectious.
The restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere. Despite being busy, the space felt lively rather than chaotic. The décor was modern yet cozy, and the lighting struck a perfect balance—bright enough to see your food clearly but soft enough to feel relaxed. Background music added to the ambiance without overpowering conversation, making it an ideal setting for both couples and families.
One of the most impressive aspects of the evening was how efficiently the staff managed the bustling crowd. Despite the steady flow of diners, service was timely and seamless. Our orders were taken promptly, and the wait for our food was minimal. The team clearly worked well together, ensuring no table was left waiting too long, even during peak hours.
When our food arrived, it was clear that ASK Italian takes pride in its dishes. The presentation was impeccable, and the aroma alone was enough to whet our appetites. I opted for the classic Pollo Milanese, which was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My dining companion chose the Margherita Pizza, which was generously topped with fresh mozzarella and a rich tomato sauce. Both dishes were served piping hot and tasted as good as they looked. The flavors were vibrant and authentic, demonstrating the quality ingredients and attention to detail that ASK Italian is known for.
Throughout the meal, Jorja checked in with us at just the right moments—attentive without being intrusive. She ensured our drinks were topped up and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Her attentiveness added a personal touch that made us feel valued as customers.
In summary, my visit to ASK Italian in Great Malvern was an excellent dining experience. From the warm welcome to the delicious food and outstanding service, every aspect of the evening exceeded expectations. Jorja’s friendliness and professionalism were particularly noteworthy, and the efficient management of a busy restaurant was commendable. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the area, I highly recommend ASK Italian for its inviting atmosphere, quality cuisine, and exceptional service.
This is a restaurant I will undoubtedly return to, and I look forward to experiencing their...
Read moreThe main positive about ASK Italian, Malvern is the food. Very nice food, slightly disappointed in the portion size of the Pasta.
Service and professionalism let the restaurant down on this occasion.
Booked a table 24 hours in advance, for 4 and gave notice that one of our group is a wheelchair user. Arrived to a sign stating, "Join us upstairs". Not a huge problem as one of us popped upstairs and informed a waitress that we had arrived and were sat downstairs. "No problem, we can fit four" was the response. The restaurant was quite quiet with only around 4 tables occupied. To our amazement this waitress walked past us 5 minutes later, collected her coat and left.
A waiter then noticed us sat near the bottom of the stairs and came down looking surprised. No issues, menus were brought down to us. Food and drink ordered.
Drinks arrived promptly. Quite quickly followed two plates of food. The waiter then explained that an error had been made in the kitchen and the wrong pizza had been prepared, and did we want the wrong one, or for the chef to prepare the correct one, which would take a few minutes.
We obviously asked for the correct order.
If the rest of us had waited for this to arrive at the table our food would have been cold.
Whilst eating a young lady and young child came into the restaurant and sat on an adjacent table. They were shortly joined by the original waitress, obviously finished her shift as she remained in her jacket. The two ladies, joked and socialised, without eating or drinking at the establishment. On a couple of occasions one of the chefs came downstairs and sat with them for a couple of minutes. It became quickly apparent that the young lady and child were his partner and son and that this was purely a social visit. He also sat and joked with the others. I found this completely unprofessional as paying customers were sat feet away whilst on duty and off duty staff passed the time quite loudly.
We were then sat with empty plates for 20-25 minutes before the waiter returned, apologising that they had just a rush on. This was despite the fact that one of the chefs walked passed us 3-4 times. We had intended on ordering deserts, but with the level of service experienced so far we paid the bill and left.
Good food. Spoilt by unprofessional, discorteous staff with poor service.
I'm sorry to say that I can't see us returning and certainly wouldn't recommend anyone who uses a wheelchair to use this...
Read moreI wanted to say how much it was a pleasure to eat at Ask Italian restaurant tonight, we were meant to eat in the Wetherspoons but we couldn’t find a table and the wait for food was 1hour 30 mins which was no good as we were a party of 8 with children and a therapy dog. So i rang Ask and to see if we could have a table and they were very willing to accommodate us, so we came in via the bottom entrance and went up the stairs and were greeted with a warm welcoming response from a lady who showed us to a well suited table. We were served by Lee S a very charming and engaging young man who put us straight at ease with his calm manner and whit, he was very attentive to our table all night, he engaged with good banter lead by us, was engaging with the children and very good with our therapy dog Alfie, asking us if it was ok to give him some chicken later in the night , he asked if he was able to say hello to Alfie which is a first in a restaurant when Alfie is a working dog, so many staff normally just stroke him or fuss him without asking but Lee was very good at asking. The food was very well spaced out and really nice, the restaurant was busy but not overwhelming,we felt well looked after by Lee s, he is a credit to your company, please pass that on to his manager, and because this I gave him a tip, which i never give because he worked so hard and keep us at easy and because one of our party had a nut Allergy , he kept checking our choices. I would love return to Ask Malvern again just to be served by Lee S. Credit where credit is due . Lovely restaurant , great service and made to feel at easy and not pushed out after eating our food , would defiantly recommend and return to this restaurant if in the area again just because of the service.
