Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here.
The staff were very young and the service was very poor. There was lots of dirty plates, cups and teapots on empty tables and it took a while to get served even though there wasn't a que as the staff were talking to each other. The tables were extremely close together, so much so that every person who tried to walked passed we had to move the 'wobbly' table for them to be able to. In the end we just joined the tables together with the next couple to save us the hassle. This was not ideal as I have a special needs daughter who needs her own space.
I ordered a cake for my daughter and a pot of tea for my myself and the server placed the cake on a dirty plate, brushing off crumbs from a previous customer! Luckily I had seen this and I asked for a clean plate and the server seems a little disgruntled byy request.
The water jugs were all emptied and there was no glasses. I asked for some water and this took more than 10 minutes to be bought to our table.
All rather disappointing. We left as soon as we could.
There was also a weird atmosphere, maybe a little music...
Read moreI had a latte and a (Peter Cooks) almond Croissant (as did my counterpart but with a hot chocolate). The coffee was ok and the Croissant (this version a favourite) while tasty, had too much of a dough like texture making it for me heavy. Even for the Parisian style it was seemingly going after. Big fan of Peter Cooks by the way. It was late morning/lunch. One person (male) on a laptop in the corner and two others (female) off to one side chatting quietly. A tradesperson, two teas for takeaway and shortly another for coffee. A couple with a terrier entered. It barked at everything including the couple with the German shepherd that followed them. They squabbled. The terrier and its carer's left. We spent no more than 1.5hrs sat on the bench to the rear of the café. NPS in my view (stars) 1-very bad 2-bad 3-neutral/"yeah. It's...
Read moreI love this little coffee shop, they do a lovely range of vegan cakes, plant milks on offer and a couple of nice vegan toasties if you want something savoury. However, what I find really annoying is that they don't stick to their opening hours, they advertise that they are open until 5pm, however when I went in one day at a few minutes before 5, I was asked to go elsewhere, which I thought was incredibly rude. I've also walked past on other days where the shop has been completely shut before 5. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired in general, I've only ever been smiled at by the boss, Tom, the rest of his staff who are all quite young don't seem to care whether there are customers in or not. Other than that the cafe is clean and nicely decorated, with a little bit of...
