Bouzouki By Night — Restaurant in Manchester

Food was great, fresh and great taste, we had a couple of veggie Mezze platters which were exactly that, kinda expected one large tray for two rather than a tray each. The gigantes seemed to be chick peas, maybe I should have read the menu more carefully. We came Thursday night and the place, a pretty large space was empty, felt a bit weird. Reading other reviews it might get very lively at the weekend. The music was interesting plenty of bouzouki in the mix I guess. The guy waitering sort of turned up and the disappeared for ages then reappeared, it was a bit weird. Feels a rather old school Manchester restaurant, a bit like stepping back in time. We had a enjoyable meal and spent a couple of hours there, would have stayed longer but "they didn't have a coffee machine downstairs" so we skipped baklava and went out into the freezing night to try to...

To start with, the food was good and we felt welcomed by the man who runs this place. Overall, we had a good night. There was not much atmosphere, for a Saturday night you expect a bit more of a buzz (rather than being the only ones there for majority of the night) we also emailed to ask when to book our taxi home and we’re advised 11:30-12, however we were asked to leave at about 10:30 since they wanted to shut, they had to remain open since our taxi was booked for 11:30 as advised. I suggest that the price is taken off the bottles of wine that you sell for over triple the price. My bottle of rose was 19.50 yet had a £6.49 sticker on it! Absolutely incredible.

Restaurants always try to pitch to you that they are "an experience" and "like nothing else" but then you go in and it's... a restaurant.

This is 100% not the case with Bouzouki By Night. This is something special and unique, not only in Manchester but I would say for the entire UK. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, the staff create an amazing atmosphere by encouraging everyone to dance, teaching the steps and showing how to do it. We couldn't dance well at all but we had the time of our lives.

We went for a Christmas event, so about the food: it was good, traditional, and there was a lot of it.
