I used to come here all the time and it is a very good bar and I still to this day recommend it the only reason for the 1 star is because I was barred because the manager or at least I think she was the manager or a supervisor or something had said Iād been stealing drinks but the drinks I āstoleā were actually drinks given to me by friends and she also said that I was messing with customers when most the time Iād be sat on my own and the groups had invited me over to join them, I got just straight up barred for life, it wasnāt a 30 day ban or anything just barred for life, this was about 7-8 months ago and I have repeatedly tried to explain to sed staff member that the drinks I āstoleā were drinks my friends gave to me and the people I was āmessing withā were either already my friends and if they wanted me to leave them alone they wouldāve told me to leave them alone or people who invited me to join there group.
I was in fact told that I could come back the next day when I got kicked out so I did as I usually went there after uni and was told that Iām not being served because Iām barred. Obviously Iām quite a unique situation but like I said itās a very good bar and most of the staff are lovely just for some reason this one staff member just didnāt like me and always seemed quite short with me. Iāve even had my friend who I āstoleā a drink from speak to the staff member and tell them he gave it to me and she still said that I stole it. All is good though I donāt have any hard feelings itās just not very fair that Iām barred for life and nobody is willing to even hear me out or listen to my side.
But overall great atmosphere great service and a very good place to start the night if youāre having a night out or just to go for a drink after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTL/DR Horrible bouncer with an inferiority complex intimidated me and a friend and wouldnt let an ambulance get called on a person who collapsed bc they were 'still breathing'.
I went in there, no ID check with a friend. I was wearing grey jogging bottoms and the manager apparently flagged my trousers as being against the dress code (it wasn't) but still allowed me and my friend to still buy drinks and sit down outside where the bouncer told me off and said we can finish our drinks but had to go. He waited 2 minutes to come over again to try to get me out, saying my pants were 'distracting' (what?) and I felt so uncomfortable that I said to my friend that we should take his unfished drink and leave (it was a disposable plastic cup and paper straw) and when we tried to leave he made it so my friend couldn't leave with it and made him drink it on the spot and made me stand outside the barrier like some criminal. I've never felt more uncomfortable and anxious in my life. It was intimidating and was a gross overreaction over a pair of pants. I never talked back, neither did my friend.
Later on my friend (in dress code) tried to go in to collect a friend and go toilet and the same bouncer stopped him saying he couldn't come in because he was there before.
When we left as well a woman collapsed and when a friend tried to call 999, one of your bouncers told them not to call the ambulance because 'they're breathing' and then they called the police who tried to ask a clearly unwell person questions.
I'm convinced you guys don't like your customers because I've heard MULTIPLE stories similar to this....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here with a small group of friends on a quiet evening, and the service from some of the staff was horrendous. Girl with black/brown wavy hair and septum piercing had a disgusted face on her the whole night, I go up to the bar and ask her for a drink politely and she was frowning like I was some sort of inconvenience to her? I try to be polite as possible because I personally know how stressful working in a busy environment can get. (even though it wasnāt that busy) She rushed me around and I could see the visible impatient look on her face like she wanted me to go away. I brushed it off at first, but then about an hour and a half later I came back for another round and was waiting at the bar, the music was loud so I couldnāt really understand her, so I move over to try and hear her better, and I could have sworn she scoffed and then shook her head at me and I was nice at first but obviously this had ruined my experience so I didnāt thank her, because with that kind of service why would I? she gave me the most snappiest response after she handed me her drinks and sarcastically went āyouāre welcome šā . I never EVER write complaints or rude reviews but it was genuinely awful, and looking at other peopleās reviews too I can tell it isnāt the nicest place to go unless you plan on buying cheap half filled drinks and getting belittled by their staff. š¤·āāļø She was wearing a t-shirt that said something like āI support womenā- well you clearly donāt with the way you treat your...
