We had our late launch here today. Foods were very tasty and the staffs were very friendly and nice. Basically this is a small restaurant in a Vietnamese shop (or maybe a shop in a restaurant?!). The place is a bit hard to notice, my partner have been here before, and he decided to take me here to try his top 1 Vietnamese spring roll today.
Crispy pork spring roll (3 rolls) As the name, it's really crispy! Texture was really good, and the flavor was just great! Spring rolls themselves were chunky, not like some places serve skinny ,tiny and greasy spring rolls. It came with 2 kind of dippings, one I think it's Vietnamese sweet chilli sauce, another one I assume it's Vietnamese white vinegar with some chill and something else inside, both dipping taste great!
Pork & prawn fried dumplings (4 pc) I was really impressed with the dumplings as they were not greasy at all! They taste light and fresh, you won't even feel guilty while eating them as they are deep fried. I now just realized, I think the sweet chilli sauce dipping was actually for dumpings I think? They taste amazing anyways!!!
Pho with slow cook beef I was impressed with this one as well, the broth was so fresh and light, not too salty not to plain. The beef was oh • my • god! probably was the most tender beef I've ever had in my life so far. They will also bring you one more long plate with bean sprouts, fresh mint, lemon, and chilli for you to add in your pho by choice. I personally added lemon, chilli and bean sprout.
BBQ pork banh mi The pork itself had really good grilled flavor, and it's tender. In between the bread it had some vinegar marinated carrot & raddish, coriander and chill. Also some homemade mayo maybe? Overall it had good flavor and the ingredients were great combination!
Overall it's a great place, great flavor, and reasonable price with good portion of foods. I'd love to visit again in the...
Read moreThis place really is a hidden gem. My absolute favourite pho in Manchester, in a very competitive market of other great Vietnamese restaurants, all with lots on offer.
They have a relatively simple menu, but it's all executed fantastically well. The pho bo chin has a deliciously rich and filling broth with beautifully balanced flavours, not too heavy, melt-in-the-mouth beef, and I love the bun bo hue too, which is wonderfully warming, and not too strongly spiced that it's overpowering like some places. I've eaten at most pho places in Manchester, but you couldn't ask for better than Ca Phe Viet. They have great fresh Vietnamese filter coffee too. I'll have to try the banh mi one day as well, which looks to be extremely promising, but the huge bowls of pho are too tempting, particularly on a cold day!
I took my grandad who has an unadventurous English palette to say the least, and he thought the pho bo chin was the best thing since sliced bread, and was instantly eager to return.
They were rushed off their feet (testiment to their popularity) and we had a short wait to get a table, but everyone who served us was friendly, chatty and helpful (our waitress showed my grandad how best to drink the coffee). They made sure we enjoyed our meal, despite them having to run around like headless chickens. The food came very quickly within 5-10 minutes.
It's a shame they're only open until 5:30, but I can forgive them because it's a small, family run café and they work incredibly hard, which is much appreciated. Very very reasonably priced too.

Read moreBest Vietnamese food in Manchester! I have had quite a lot Vietnamese food around the world, this one deserves a spot in top five!
Their bbq pork is SO GOOD with almost some charcoal flavour in that! This is today’s MVP in my opinion!!! Perfectly seasoned with just enough bbq taste.
I tried their raw and cooked beef pho, honestly the best pho soup in Manchester! It has a more clean taste compare to other places, half way through you will get a bit used to the soup and you can add additional flavours and changes the taste of the soup completely with chilli, lime and mint! The cooked beef is more more flavourful and soft compared to the raw beef. I will order the cooked beef pho next time when i visit.
Their deep fried spring roll is out of the world as well! Love the crunch to the spring roll and they have some bits of grounded pork in the spring roll, you do not see meat in spring roll everyday I will give you that!
Drinks are just so so, maybe i will try soy...
