Been at this place for the first and last time. In all my life eating out, I never experienced anything like this and to be honest I didn’t know it was allowed. My partner booked a table on the 10/12/2022 for 4 people at 3pm (2 adults and 2 teenagers), a £40 deposit was required. When we arrived the pub was packed (we hardly could move), and we couldn’t find our table (there were cards with the names that tables were assigned to, but we needed to get close to be able to read). All tables were taken and finally we noticed some guys left our table. The table was dirty and with only 3 chairs. We were told by a not too well dressed waiter (he was collecting glasses with his fingers inside the glasses and I hope he was washing his hands every time he was going to the kitchen) that we needed to use the app. When trying to order, the app doesn’t ask anywhere for our details so it can deduct the deposit when paying (it looks more like a scam), my partner had to go and order on the busy bar. It taken for ever for the starters to come, they were disgusting (frozen food that you can get from Tesco). The dip fried mushrooms were watery inside, the chicken wings were burned, and my cauliflower wings was frozen, no one around to help. I had to go to the bar that we hardly could move. When I pointed out to the girl behind the bar that my starter was frozen (not presentable dressed), her reply was “oh s**t” - very vulgar. It taken about 10 minutes to get the starter back and it was disgusting, it was burned and tasteless (see picture). Eventually a waiter with an England T-shirt top came around to clean the plates and asked if we were having main courses (staff doesn't seem to know what's going on). The main courses have taken forever to come, and everything was so tasteless (I was concerned that we may get food poisoning). It doesn't seem to be any care or safety for your customers. The food standards doesn't seem to be up to standard and the staff aren't (in my opinion) presentable to interact with your customers. Your staff came across untrained and it looked that they have no conditions to work.

I first visited this pub a few weeks back with my mum when we went to Manchester to watch a show, today we went again to Manchester to watch another show and we had to visit this place again for lunch. On both occasions the food and service was definitely 5 star, the pub has a great feel when you walk in and the staff are very welcoming. The prices for both food and drink are also very reasonable. When we went today we noticed there'd been a menu change which I was a little disappointed about because I wanted to order what I'd had the first time but it was no longer on the menu. When I spoke to a member of staff about the new menu I mentioned what I'd ordered the first time, he then took it upon himself to go and ask the chef if it would he possible for me to have the philly steak sub roll even though it was no longer on the menu, the chef said this was okay so I was able to have what I wanted. That is definitely what I would call 5 star service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Special shout out to Phil who was the member of staff that sorted everything for me today and thank you for another wonderful lunch 🫶 ** The picture attached is from my first visit as I forgot to take one today 🤦‍♀️

Amazing Sunday roast l with unlimited Yorkshire puddings and bottomless gravy. I enjoyed half a roast chicken which was cooked perfect, a slightly crispy skin with tender and juicy meat inside. Served with carrots, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and Savoy cabbage. The roasties were plentiful, fluffy and crisp, and tasted great with the rich gravy. I could've had a pint of that gravy to be honest I didn't think I'd be saying how good cabbage was but here I am. The cabbage was incredible, I think I detected cinnamon on it but whatever secret recipe the chef uses I need to steal it as I want it on my Christmas dinner. The Cauliflower cheese was okay but to be honest there wasn't enough of it, having said that I was full so it doesn't matter. The unlimited yorkies are what's done it for me, they were so good! Every roast dinner should come with unlimited yorkies!

Poor Customer Service by the particular member of staff serving early evening on 08/09/18. I visited as 1 off a group of 6 friends, meeting for our annual reunion, for a meal and a drink. We had a drink, considered the menu, and went to the bar to order a 2nd round of drinks before considering what to eat in their as on numerous previous visits we have been happy to eat and drink their. A sign on the bar asks you to leave a review, I made a comment to my friend who I was helping to order/carry the drinks "I bet they wouldnt want you to leave a bad review", the bar man instantly /emotionally reacted why we would you want to leave us a bad review? I said to him its nothing to do with him what I was talking about, as he shouldnt be listening to, and reacting too a personal conversation I was having with a friend. He then chose to escalate this trying to provoke me into an arguement, again saying why would I want to leave a bad review, I then said perhaps I would leave a bad review for poor customer service, he said if I didnt like it to leave and go somewhere else. He poored 6 drinks, and I said too my friend lets leave them and go somewhere else, he than said we would have to pay for them, and he wouldnt serve us again anyway - all because I was having a private conversation about my right to review the establishment which he instantly got defensive / angry and emotional about. We paid for the drinks, drank up and left. Upon leaving the door supervisors comment was "have a good night lads" intamated towards the bar bar man and said "he is a bit of a knob isnt he!" which indicated to me that the bar man was not really focused on customers could get stressed when dealing with customers, in my opinion that gentleman should not be in a face-to-face customer focused role. Just to validate my opinion/review - I am a Regional Manager throughout Europe/Middle East/Asia, I have 25 years customer focused / facing experience, I study psychology for sales and service, this person in my opinion is too quick to react emotionally to be in a customer focused environment. He will be the cause of arguements and has issues managing his own emotional reactions never mind being able to manage a bar or other staff. He needs to chill out ! and learn not to react to listening to private conversations, and cost the business customers who would have eaten/drunk and purchased food/drinks and used the facilities had it not been for this...

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. We ordered only vegan side dishes, specifically fries and vegan nuggets, yet the service was a complete disaster. An item that looked like nuggets was placed on our table and then taken away a total of five times, being placed on different tables around the room before being returned to us. The waiter then said, “sorry we weren’t sure whose food this was but it’s actually yours.”

My whole family began eating, only for the waiter to come back three minutes later and tell us we had been given the wrong food. When we asked what nuggets we had eaten, he said it was ham. As Muslims, we don’t eat pork, so we were horrified by this response. We specifically ordered vegan side dishes for a reason. How could they mess that up so badly? Why did we eat here? Because we’re not from Manchester and we specifically went to a nice space to watch football.

The waiter took the dish away, leaving us disgusted that we had just eaten pork for the first time. My mother, who wears a hijab, was with us, so it was particularly ignorant of the waiters to mistakenly give us pork. None of them took it seriously or even apologized for the mistake. Instead, when one waiter took the dish away, another one BROUGHT IT BACK and told us we could have the whole thing for free since we already ate it. I told him, “we literally just told the other waiter we don’t eat pork,” to which he responded, “oh okay!” with a smile and walked away. What a nightmare!

It was incredibly frustrating to watch them mistakenly put those nuggets on five different tables before assuring us it was ours, only to then tell us they had made a mistake again after we had eaten it. Don’t they have a system to track which food belongs to which table? I also saw these waiters make multiple other mistakes, placing different food on different tables and having people call them back to say they didn’t order it. The waiters are both male with long blonde hair.

How is this allowed? If someone had an allergy and mistakenly ate something they didn’t order, this restaurant could be sued. Someone who is vegan/vegetarian could also have been frustrated by this? But obviously, our case was not taken seriously because it wasn’t an allergy. This experience was unacceptable and I am still...
