Nice place located in city centre. Was with my partner on a shopping spree and decided to have something to eat. We went around 4 pm. It was Tuesday and they have 50% off food. The staff greeted us at the entrance and seemed friendly. My partner and I had the same meal fish and chips and it seemed ok although the chips seemed to be double cooked or cooked in burnt oil. In the night we realised we had food poisoning as we both had severe abdominal cramps and vomiting. Then we understood why the 50% off that is not worth it. I had abdominal cramps all night. In the morning my partner called the place to let them know what we've been through so he can help prevent that from happening in the future. It was a man that answered, yesterday there were 2 women at the place. He sounded condencending and not showing any empathy. Not only that, but he accused my partner of wanting a free meal and he said that food poisoning doesn't occur on the same day you had the meal and he was patronising saying 'you seem very well to do this phone call in the morning'. Wasn't at all considerate of the night that we've been through. I don't usually bother to leave reviews unless I love something or there was something really bothering me. The man's way of dealing with the situation over the phone, reacting very bad to negative feedback shows a lot about him and the nature of his business. Avoid the place so you can avoid...
Read moreAfter visiting this place 6 times I originally left a 5 star review. However after today's experience I will not be returning. We ordered 5 main meals and 4 drinks from the menu. Half way through my meal I asked for some more hot water in my pot of tea. This request was refused as they "don't do refills" which I find incredibly frugal. Considering we are spending £90 asking for some hot water is not asking for much! I have asked for several years in different cafes and restaurants for pot of tea refills and have NEVER been refused until this place. They clearly don't have customer service as their top priority. Also the older guy working there is miserable and rude. So I won't be coming back. I will say though the two ladies working there are super lovely. The food is nice and arrives quickly. The place is really clean and they have a good menu. But because they are so cheap they won't even give you water I won't be going back or recommending this place.
Original review Love this place. It has half price food all day Monday and Tuesday. Nice staff, lots of seats, games available to play. Never had an issue with the food or drinks here. ...
Read moreReally fab place.
Location is excellent, just off the road from Market Street so you're right near the Arndale and all of the shops as well as Printworks and the Northern Quarter. We were meeting up with friends coming in from Victoria station and wanted to try a new place nearby, printworks etc can get a bit samey after a while!
The venue is really really lovely, very spacious and tables aren't crammed in which is a pretty unique thing in the city nowadays! What a change to have a chat with your mates without bumping chairs with the table behind you! They have a selection of board games to play with which is always loads of fun over a few drinks. The staff absolutely can't do enough for you, the two gentlemen that served us were knowledgable and welcoming and checked up on us twice. The cocktails are amazing, can take a while for them to be prepared but when we received them we understood why as it looked like so much care had been taken into making them, almost felt bad drinking them! Prices are probably about average for a city centre establishment.
I hear they haven't been open long - I really hope they're here to stay. Will...
