We had the pleasure of being served by an incredibly unprofessional waitress who took every opportunity to slate the cafe management. In addition to the poor customer service we experienced, we spent our entire meal batting away flies from food.
Our order was taken whilst we were still waiting outside in the queue, and our potato side dish was already on the table before we were seated. The other food arrived in a disorderly fashion. We had to repeatedly request napkins, cutlery, and bread, resulting in cold batata harara and solidified shakshuka poached eggs before we could eat.
The maximum seating time of 45 mins was not brought to our attention until plates were rushed away from us before we had finished eating. Although the seating time is stipulated on the menu, it would be curteous to bring this to cusotmers' attention before they were seated. The passive-aggressive nature of the waiting staff reached an unbelievable level as the waitress loudly referred to diners consuming their meals as 'campers', or 'being wierd' as people outside enquired about tables. Our dessert plates were literally taken away as we we were still eating.
The discourtesy continued as we were summoned back into our cafe as it was suggested our payment had been declined, which it hadn't. I had felt sorry for the barista who was ordered to run out to catch us, as she had nothing to do with taking payment at the till, but had stopped the wrong customers in error. It was even more embarrising for the actual cusotmers whose payment had declined as the waitress shouted across the cafe for them.
The food was basic, drinks were decent; they were in no way worth the service...
Read moreDisastrous experience. Where to start. Was made to order our food whilst still stood in line outside. A side dish we ordered was already at the table before we were seated. The remaining dishes came out one by one with bread forgotten. We had to repeatedly ask for things including cutlery and napkins. The waitress was clearly unhappy and made comments about management and how the owner left for the day a time convenient for him and not the restaurant. As diners came in the waitress told them there was a wait because 'customers are being weird' and kept referring to us as 'campers'. It made us feel uncomfortable. We were still eating then told 'there's a 45min rule' which apparently was in small print on menus. Perhaps this timer started when the side dish was on the table- cheeky tactic to be honest considering food arrived in dribs and drabs. I was still eating my dessert and the disgruntled waitress literally dragged my plate away from me. On top of that there were flies everywhere. The shakshuka was overcooked and left a lot to be desired. We felt so uncomfortable and were made to feel like an inconvenience to the point we were scared to ask for anything. We then paid and got chased outside where another waitress shouted 'payments declined'. I checked my app and showed the lady it had gone through. She didn't believe me and so I had to go back to the counter where the original waitress told me 'oh not you, it's the other customers'. Embarrassing. Not an ounce of customer service, apology or a smile. It's a shame. Oh but they do have flies everywhere in case you want some...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Fiori Cafe for the first time today, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! I stopped by for a late breakfast/early lunch, and the place was bustling with activity — always a promising sign that something special is happening inside.
Upon entering, a remarkably polite gentleman greeted me with a menu. He patiently walked me through their offerings, providing helpful recommendations that made the decision process much easier. Even before we were seated, he took the initiative to take our order, ensuring our food would be ready as soon as we sat down.
I decided to try their cardamom latte, a choice that did not disappoint. It was my first time having it, and it was absolutely delightful — smooth, fragrant, and perfectly spiced. I can confidently say it won't be my last!
When our food arrived, I was equally impressed. The staff was not only welcoming and attentive, but they also exuded a genuine sense of pride in their work. The dishes were fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor. Everything was prepared to perfection, leaving me with no complaints — just pure satisfaction.
The cherry on top was discovering that the kind gentleman who initially helped us was actually the owner of the cafe! His humility and warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable.
Fiori Cafe has truly won me over. It’s now my go-to spot for breakfast, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful meal and an even better atmosphere. You won’t be...
