Friend Cafe — Restaurant in Manchester

It was my first visit there and for an unknown reason the owner/staff wasn't pleased with me there. I arrived and they didn't bother to say "hello". Two ladies were talking to each other, one of them were holding her phone and I was there as I wasn't. For seconds I thought I was invisible and they didn't see me. I bought a full English and a bottle of orange juice. No even a glass wasn't offered me. I had to ask for a glass otherwise I'd drink the juice from the bottle. When I was leaving, again I was the one to say "goodbye" and by lucky the lady replied me with a cold "thank you". I wasn't expecting she'd reply me, to be honest. The place is great, the food was very well presented and tasty, but there's no customer service standard, unfortunately. Sadly they are not friendly as the name of the cafe...

I never usually leave reviews even if i dont enjoy my food but i just had to leave one this time...

I decided to go here having read all the positive Google reviews. What a mistake. The food is literally slimey with grease. Poor quality bacon that is wafer thin, the cheapest frozen sausages I've ever seen, neon orange scrambled eggs (no exaggeration), even the fried eggs were bad!! How do you mess up eggs and bacon? Mushrooms were like rubber and just tasted of grease. I didn't enjoy one thing on my plate. I walked out after one bite of everything. I can still taste and smell the unpleasant grease.

I feel sorry for the people who think this is a good place to get...

Until last year I always enjoyed coming here, however since the leaseholder has changed, every thing has changed. She is not as helpful as the previous holder, which I found unusual as she has been working there for years in the kitchen. There was an incident where I politely gave her some constructive criticism over finding a pool of butter underneath my jacket potato. I suggested that she could look at asking customers whether they want butter.
