OverDraught — Restaurant in Manchester

Avoid this bar if you are a person of colour. Came here following a positive experience during the week, served by a really friendly male bartender on July 10th around 5pm - he went above and beyond with his customer service and was so great, I recommended this place to my partner, stating we should visit at the weekend. Went today (July 15th at 19:30) - atmosphere was okay, very busy though but managed to get seats. My partner was served by female bartender who seemed overwhelmed by the busy bar. I then went up to get the next round of drinks, there was 2 male bartenders on the bar at this point, 2 customers at the bar when I joined the queue. It was evident I was next in line as there was a queue behind me. A woman then came up to the bar and was served next, the younger bartender completely ignoring me. I thought fair enough, maybe he hadn't seen me (even though I was stood at the bar at this point). The other bartender was serving a woman and finished up serving her, I was definitely next to be served, a man then came up behind me and again, the same thing happened. I was upset at this point as I thought they were blatantly ignoring me now. I then waited and the other bartender continued to serve other people who were behind me. Not once did anyone acknowledge me standing there, or even ask if I was being served. I was just ignored, I have never been made to feel so completely worthless, this to me was blatant racism being the only person of colour in the bar. I would ask you to check your CCTV to see proof of this - it was so obvious that some of the other customers stood behind me commented on this. Came here for the first time for a drink with an old friend, after having passed by daily on my way to and from work and thinking it looks nice on the outside. I can honestly say I had a great night. A wife range of drinks and all reasonably priced , plus a nice friendly atmosphere with a variety of different people. The place is clean and unpretentious, plenty of space and comfortable. I would like to give a special mention to Tom who worked behind the bar for his service. He made a fantastic dark and stormy cocktail, had plenty of drink knowledge and was more than happy to give a taster of a couple of the speciality beers on offer. Rude bar staff. Took a pint back after one sip because it tasted terrible.(a beer 🍻 drink all the time.and know what it's supposed to taste like
