Easily my favourite place on Wilmslow Road. It’s so cheap for the fresh excellent flavours and quality you receive in return for your hard earned cash. And great any time of the day.
Staff are usually pleasant, polite, they’re gentlemen. This does mean they’re straightforward when they’re busy. No nonsense and as a customer I appreciate it. They’re trying to their jobs as quickly and best the can and do not need any nuisance aimed at them from the direction of us punters.
Having said that, never seen a sad face in the place and that’s on both sides of the counter.
I usually go for a large mezze to take away (I don’t get any of the pickles, olives or jalapeño’s) and always try to ask for extra potatoes instead which they happily pile in.
Otherwise pizzas are single serving and not bad.
I must say I’m not the biggest fan of their specials.
Fatayers are super good. I prefer the lamb and my wife prefers the chicken. I should note that the lamb does tend to run out. This applies to the shwarma too.
A suggestion: they give you free mint yoghurt and chilli sauce, I dump the chilli into the yogurt and it’s perfectly balanced between that creamy slight sharpness of the yoghurt and the 2 dimensional chilli and vinegar from the...
Read morePoor customer service. Very irritable staff member because we delayed in advising him of our order and he asked us to repeat again (which was fine, apart from the exasperated look on his face). Then when my kids had the cheek to ask for water & how long our food was going to be - he started arguing which continued at our table. I went to pay and I asked him the amount charged for one of the meals - he kicked off "are you looking for trouble". After being thoroughly insulted and been to told to respect myself as I am an old man - I paid and left. The unfortunate experience with Jaffa is that on and off we have been going here for over 20 years, even when I was a student this was the way they treated their customers. Question or criticise them, they fight back so it was my fault - I should have remembered not to do this otherwise they revert to type. The owner (he claimed to be) is not much older than me (I am being kind) and after insulting my kids, my wife and me, we shall not be going again. The food is excellent - we love the fatayer's and if we could find another place we will go there. For now, Jaffa is...
Read moreWent to Jaffa in the evening for dinner, this place is AMAZING. Friendly staff, fresh food and big portions. This place is deceivingly big, they have seating upstairs too.
This place was BUSY, and now I know exactly why!!
We ordered 2 lamb shawarma, 3 chicken shawarma and a fatayeh with spicy lamb.
One mistake we made was when we ordered the shawarma we didn't go for the sandwich option (where is wrapped up nice and tight with), so the shawarma was in a plate with the bread and salad on the side.
To be fair the brother in here was more then happy to wrap up the shawarma, the rest of us just dug in.
My gosh mixing the salad, sauces and chicken was divine. This was a chicken salad but very flavourful and fresh!
Everyone really enjoyed the food and the spicy lamb fatayeh went down a treat.
This place wasn't overly priced, and we all left full and content.
Thanks to all those in Jaffa!! 😊
See you all...
