Jungle Grill — Restaurant in Manchester

Me, the wife, and my mum popped into Jungle Grill in Cheetham Hill last night.

If you love meat you are in for a real treat. This place came up on my TicTok, the food looked amazing. I had been wanting to come here for a while.

Cheetham Hill isn’t a particularly good setting for a lovely food place. However, if you bypass the rough and ready road outside. You are greeted to a lovely little modern sit in restaurant with an upstairs, that has booths overlooking the street below.

This place is very family friendly and their meat is Halal so you get a really healthy mix of local people enjoying the food.

We sat upstairs and had a look through their extensive menu. Most of the menu was meat based, but they had solid veggie options for the wife. After some deliberation we all came to our decisions.

You order at the counter downstairs and then a staff member will bring you your meal once ready. We didn’t have a long wait, I’d say not much longer than 10 minutes 👍

I went for Jungle Mix Platter £17.99🎉🎉🎉

This included diced an grilled chicken and steak, three hot wings (you could choose your spice) half a chicken, (I went for the sweet BBQ flavour) with chips, rice, & mash.

Honestly, one best tasting plates of food I have had in a long time.Everything was fresh, the chicken & steak was tender, the sauce used on the half chicken was delicious, the hot wings were lovely and spicy, the mash was melt in your mouth creamy. The diced chicken and steak looked a little dull on the plate, however the taste was excellent. The rice had a lovely depth of flavour with a mild heat. What a plate of food this was, I was so stuffed. Two people could easily take this on.

allot of the veggie burgers you get at restaurants are pretty disappointing. Not this one! She said she loved her burger which had fresh mozzarella balls inside. I also got her chips and onion rings, and she kindly helped me finish of my mash.) They they had other veggie options too, including a halloumi wrap. She said the burger had lots of taste 👍

The Meat Chops Platter x4 £12.99

My mum loves her chops, it didn’t specify what exactly the chops were but we presumed lamb. However we were expecting 4 chops on a plate. Oh no, this was six massive juicy chops that came with rice and salad. It was a beautiful plate of food. My mum let me have one of meat sticks. The meat was so tender and flavoursome Iv not seen my mum polish off a meal that quickly in a longtime.

The meat from this place is of an incredibly high standard. You guys should be so proud of the food you’re serving up. We thought it was amazing value as well. It’s one of those places were there’s no need for a starter of dessert, you just want to get right into the mains and enjoy that meaty experience.

Total bill was £44.73p

Which included two bottles of water and a Bottle of Coke.

Located on Cheetham Hill Road, it's in an area highly concentrated with other restaurants and take aways. Nonetheless, it's one of the few restaurants I would visit again due to the quality and cost of the food. I ordered one of the items on the platter menu and I was thoroughly satisfied with my meal. I can put away my food, but the platter was a little too excessive.

At £11 I was expecting a fairly large meal, so it wasn't like I was unprepared for it. In hindsight, I should have gone for an option with less red meat. Having said that, the quality of the food was excellent. The steak was well done and the chips were perfect. I opted to eat the burger last, which meant that I was too full to enjoy it to its full extent. My only negative was the rice, which wasn't as hot as the rest of the meal. The rice was an afterthought, so I wasn't overly upset. Just mildly annoyed.

The inside is quite understated/basic. There are seats downstairs and an expanded seating area upstairs. There is also an enclosed dining area if you're looking for a more family friendly spot. You'll also find a restroom upstairs with an additional sink for washing your hands/face.

If you're wanting to visit the restaurant at a peak (dinner) time, you may be hard-pressed to find a parking spot. There are side streets you can park on if you don't find a space directly outside. It shouldn't take long to find a suitable...

Well finally visited this place after many family and friends recommended it. We live on the other side of manchester...and I have to say I was really impressed with everything about this place. Staff are very polite...which makes me think those who have left rubbish reviews about the staff on here may have visited the wrong place. Senior staff member was very accommodating with our order and very appreciative of our visit there. 5 stars for staff.

Food: You are really spoilt for choice. If you dont find anything from this menu then you won't find it anywhere else. We bought food for 7 people. And the potions of the mixed steak grill were very generous...it can ideally be shared between two people. The quality of the meat and the care taken in cooking the food was clearly demonstrated. Could not fault the taste and flavours.

Price: The total price of our food came just under £40 for 6/7 people... anywhere else and I've paid double that in bill cost.

Those who have left any negative reviews or scores obviously don't eat out much... I've visted great take aways steak places grill places all over the country and I have to say this place is high on my list.

What I would love to see: I would love to see some gelato ice creams and cakes offered...but with this place very busy and popular I'm not sure if there would be space.
