I visited tonight with my boyfriend, we ordered cookie dough and sundae. We’ve been waiting for a long time and when we finally received our cookie dough sundae took a few more minutes to arrive. It’s not such a big deal but in such a fancy place I would expect both things to arrive at the same time as we paid together. After I started eating I found a raspberry with mould on it in my sundae. My partner went to let the staff know. Someone told him to wait a minute and no one came to talk to us for ages. I thought they forgot about us so I went to the counter to inform them about the issue again. Woman behind the counter asked me to wait one minute (again). We waited quite a bit more and finally she arrived to our table just to tell us she can only offer a discount for next visit as “I’ve already eaten the whole thing” (which I find rude as I’ve barely eaten half) and she can’t give me a refund because of one bad raspberry. Long waiting time for the order and for the complain to be handled didn’t improve the whole experience but I work in hospitality myself and I understand it gets tough when it’s busy. However if I would hear from a customer that food I served was not fit to eat the least I could do would be to remake the order straight away. I uploaded the pictures of sundae that employee said about “I’ve eaten the whole thing”. Also after I ordered and paid for cookie dough one person from the stuff came to inform us there is no vegan chocolate sauce left and offered strawberry or bubblegum instead. If I was told before I would’ve order something else as chocolate sauce would be a preferred option. Again - it wouldn’t be too much of an issue, but things added up, from not telling me about sauce that ran out after I’ve placed and order not before to waiting for too long to receive the order and waiting way to long for someone to deal with complaint - all of that created overall unpleasant experience. Customer service was poor and unprofessional. Not...
Read moreI am sending this highly disappointed by the way your employees have treated me at your store today. Today being Tuesday 18 February at 5-6pm and I am telling you so that you know exactly who I am talking about.
First, I ordered and they made me wait 30 minutes which is understandable since they had many orders coming in, but later they left out one of the desserts from my order. Then when I called them they answered and when I told them they left out my order they put me on hold and then cut off my call, when I called again they pretended like they didn’t recognise me and then started saying hello as if they couldn’t hear me. After that I heard a couple of them giggling and the other saying hello over the phone acting as if she couldn’t hear me (clearly mocking me and ignoring my request).
Clearly disappointed I went back to the store and asked for my order back and whilst I was mid sentence talking to your employee they walked off and started to look busy. Which was hilarious to me because when I walked in they looked pretty free to chat with me, as they were doing with each other. I found this highly rude and when I asked for the manager one of your female employees said I am the manager, which I highly doubt since she was extremely rude and disrespectful.
The only way I can best describe them is 2 of them were hijabi sisters one was a black woman. I am a hijabi myself and have been so disappointed by their lack of customer service. Honestly, I would reconsider before hiring next time because these people might be the reason your business might not be so...
Read moreI did once review this place and loved it but after recent events I’m going to have to change it:
It breaks my heart to write this, but Little Dessert Shop in Chorlton has taken a dramatic and unfortunate nosedive under its new ownership. This used to be a place I cherished—warm, welcoming, with incredible staff who made each visit feel like a treat in every sense. Sadly, those days are long gone.
The new owner has single-handedly destroyed the atmosphere that made this place special. Sacking 15 members of staff for no apparent reason is beyond shocking. These were the people who gave the shop its heart and soul, always providing excellent service with a smile. Without them, the place feels cold, impersonal, and frankly, like a shell of its former self.
Every time I walk in now, I’m met with a tense, uninviting vibe. The warmth is gone. The joy of popping in for a sweet treat has been replaced by a feeling of discomfort. It’s clear that the staff turnover has led to a drop in both morale and quality. The service is disorganized, and the atmosphere is completely different—what used to feel like a cozy escape has turned into a dump.
It’s so disappointing to see such a beloved local spot ruined in this way. I can’t help but feel that the new owner has no interest in maintaining what made this shop great in the first place. It’s a sad reminder of how easily things can change for the worse under poor management. Avoid this place if you can—it’s not the Little Dessert Shop...
