Forget what you've heard about this pub being rough, It's actually wonderfully friendly, a proper diamond in the rough! Staff and customers alike were really welcoming.

Nestled right near the Etihad and Co op arena venues, it's the perfect spot for a pre-gig pint or a post show debrief. Don't expect crystal glasses, it's all plastic cups here, which just adds to the brilliant, no nonsense pub vibe! The floor might be a bit sticky, but honestly, who cares when the atmosphere is this good?

I was delighted to find they offer Irn Bru WKD. I hadn't seen that in years!

Make sure you visit the toilets. Those funny warped mirrors in there are pure comedy gold. I'm sure it's not deliberate, but it definitely made me laugh trying to touch up my makeup while my reflection was there looking like The Toxic Avenger.

Mary D's isn't trying to be anything it's not, and that's its charm. Go for the laughs, stay for the...

So this is an interesting place. Huge pub massive out side seating. Its the nearest pub to Etihad so caters for Man City home fans. It's about the only pub between Picadilly station and the Coop live. 45 minute walk at best. I waz there for an ELO concert on a Wednesday evening so it was full of like minded folk. Its clean and good service. Highlight was walking through the toilets to reach the beer garden. Separate entrance for male and female. Got a burger for £5 out side but I'm guessing they only do that for events. There is a really got chippy next door and you can bring them into the pub. It looks a big atimadatong from the outside but it's not. Its the only place I could find for a drink...

First time in this bar. Read the reviews on how nice the staff and door men were. We went before the Jeff Lynne concert and had a great time. Staff really were so friendly. The concert was cancelled due to Jeff's health. So headed back to the bar, met up with lovely Manchester people and fellow scousers. The bar maid came over to us with a tray of shots saying, I'm so sorry the concert was cancelled, have a little drink on us, which I thought was so thoughtful. Great bar and lovely staff, we'll be back when we are next going to the Co...

Unexpected pleasure....wandering around town I stepped in here.....best pint I've had for ages, food fresh and tasty..great value all round..the only negative is that I wasn't sure about the 2pm magic show by chuckles the clown...he wasn't very good and I found him a bit creepy...but after the show I sat with chuckles and raised a few pints together...we really hit it off...the atmosphere and friendly staff made our night special...chuckles or should I say Alan and I are now living in cahoots in gillingham...

Best Bar in the Land in all the World! Always a great atmosphere before and after City games. Tasha and Stacey are amongst the most pleasant bar staff you'll come across and the doorstaff are also nice and adopt a sensible perspective. Pricing shows a little increase on matchdays, but this doesn't apply to Sunday City girls games. Great selection of drinks and the venue is child-friendly; has merchandise on sale and allows food to be consumed from the chippy next door.
