Our friends (Thomas Jenkins and Y P Song) recommended and brought us here for dinner. We ordered several starters to share, an Ike no Tonkotsu and a Curry Ramen to share between myself and my husband. We were advised by our friends to go for 'firm noodles.' It was busy and we were starving but the waiting time was bearable. Food arrived on our table hot in temperature. The starters were great apart from the tempura asparagus or spring onion (we couldn't tell) was hard to bite through. The noodle portion size was generous for the price. We enjoyed the Ike no Tonkotsu noodle more than the Curry Ramen. Ike no Tonkotsu had more of a 'homely' soup base that was rich in flavours. The combination of toppings was sensational to our palate: different flavours and textures but not one overpowered another. However, the Curry Ramen was a bit disappointing. The soup base was like a watered down curry flavoured instant noodle soup, and the toppings were average. Definitely highly recommend the starters and Ike no Tonkotsu noodle. Also, firm noodle is the way to go.

Shogun Ramen delivers an authentic taste of Japan with its rich Tonkotsu ramen, featuring perfectly cooked "jammy" eggs that are genuinely outstanding. Finding true ramen at a reasonable price in the UK is rare, but Shogun Ramen easily ranks among the best I have tried around Manchester. The soba noodles were consistent in texture, soaking up the deep, umami-laden broth that was made for slurping. Not pictured was the karaage chicken, made from tender chicken thigh for maximum flavour. Cooked fresh to order, it arrived piping hot, paired with a punchy sriracha mayo and what seemed like a dusting of togarashi for a subtle heat. I also had a bottle of Ramune with my meal, rounding off an experience that was satisfying from start to finish.

Atmosphere is cozy and warm enough. Open kitchen is clean . Ramen is good, kinda like Hong Kong Style more than Japan. The Japanese Cha Siu Pork is very good, just 2 slices a bit not enough x Sushi is fair enough and perfect for British people , it’s very good. But for a people fancy Japan sushi, the vinegar is not sour enough, a bit pity. I understand the British doesn’t like sour sushi rice, thus it’s difficult and impossible to find authentic SOUR vinegar sushi rice. Will come again for Ramen and Cha Siu def Fab x

A gem of a ramen bar in Chorlton. It's small and cosy inside so worth booking a table especially at the weekend. Always a warm and friendly welcome and you're not rushed to order or rushed to leave. Very clean and with the open kitchen, you can observe the chefs at work. Food is superb. I had the Ike no tonkotsu on both occasions and it is consistently delicious. The broth isn't overly salty unlike other establishments in Manchester. It is creamy, and loaded with flavour. The noodles have a wonderful chewiness to them and the bbq pork is soft, deeply flavoured and moreish. The entire dish is filling and very slurpable! The chicken teriyaki was heavenly. A warming, savoury-sweet glaze that makes you want to lick the plate clean. The mean perfectly seasoned and cooked well. I also sampled a portion of avocado hosomaki and was blown away by the amount I was given. The avocado was experty cut, no skin or stone attached. The rice was soft and seasoned well. It came with lovely touches of radish, pickled ginger and wasabi. I can only imagine that the other sushi dishes will be equally delicious. The menu isn't vast which I like because you know that everything is cooked from scratch and cooked with passion. There are halal and vegan options available and they are halal certified.

I highly recommend a visit here if you want to satisfy your ramen and...

We feel so disappointed today. We come for the ramen. When we come, there are two 4 seats table available, and 2 bar seats. And one of 4 seats just finished a 2 guests party. The staff told us the big table will leave to big party coz normally busy, do we mind we sit the bar? We understand and said okay. However you know the bar seat we don’t have any space to put our coat. when we sit 5 mins there’s nobody in, the staff came to us said if you want you can move to big table, but when big party coming you still need move to the bar. I feel this is so uncomfortable so I told her we are fine. Then later the funny thing happened, a couple come in and seat one of the 4 seats table, the staff just brings the menus to them. How funny isn’t it! It’s better there are some good reasons to leave this big table for them not us. Don’t tell me they reserved that table, coz the lady comes in said to her friend said we sit this table then. We feel so disappointed and also angry, so we just leave straight away. I don’t know your food is good or not, but the service are awful. Maybe as your side, white people are more welcome and deserve better tables and...
