We was a few minutes late But when arrived the table was not read so we waited a further 10 minutes to be seated Our drinks orders were taken really quickly We asked if we could order food straight away they took our order The massive downside is they really need more staff No staff was checking if we needed another drinking even when clearly we had finished are drinks Multiple times I had to get up and find a member of staff to get another drink We could then see our drinks ready near there bar for quite a while but still not being picked up I did ask my partner to just go get them at least 3 times as it was getting a bit silly Staff did apologise but was quite rude when I asked what was going on I was just told “they never give us enough staff so put a complaint up if you wish” The food was lovely but was dissatisfied

I should really be giving this place 4 stars. The food was delicious and very good portion sizes, and also at good prices. We opted for the lunchtime menus which during the week is £5, and also went for the desert offer of 3 for £7. The food was fantastic and the deserts were nice and plentiful. The reason for the 2 stars is the service. It took a long time to have orders placed, and a very long time to get the bill. It seems unfair to critique the young waitress as the poor woman was left on her own to take orders and also provide the drinks. So this is more a criticism of the management for not knowing that they clearly need more staff. So food is good and at a great price, but just be prepared for a long wait.

Visited the Slug and Lettuce today to celebrate my daughters birthday. She'd won prize of an aperol spritzer tree and decided it'd be great to make the most of our afternoon. We were accompanied by my sister in law, who arrived on time. We ordered food and drinks as soon as we could because we'd all skipped breakfast. We ordered the chicken sharing platter with a side of chicken guiozos aswell as a number of cocktails. Food and drinks were lovely, and unfortunately, there was no room for dessert. It was lovely being out socialising with family and can't wait to return. Enjoy the photos 😉

Very odd experience. Came for the lunch deal during office hours for a quick bite to eat with colleagues. Ordered at the bar where the guy (clearly new, which is not a problem we all start off somewhere) had no idea about the lunch deal and tried to charge £15. We had to go into a discussion and eventually the manager explained to the guy where to find the lunch deal on the till. My friend then asked for the vegan Quorn chicken style burger, and the server listed all the meat burgers. We again asked for the vegan one. When it was my time to order I asked to upgrade with a glass of wine for £1.5 and he wanted to charge me for a glass separately. He had literally no idea of the menu at all it was as if no one explained him anything. Where is the manager? 3 of our group received their food within 5 minutes. My friend waited 25 minutes for her burger and I waited 30 minutes for my Thai curry. There were 2-3 other tables in the restaurant. The guy came over to give us cutlery before the food arrived, which the other server had already brought. The guy asked if we wanted any sauce, my friend asked for vegan mayo and he said they don't have that (without checking). So I pointed out that the vegan mayo is listed on the menu. The burger was the wrong one - my friend repeatedly asked for the chicken style one, but got the beef style one. It was very, very burnt. Like black all round. Not sure why as it is a vegan one so there is no need to cook it for that long just has to be warm. It was covered in some chili which wasn't listed on the menu, to hide how burnt it was? My friend went to the manager to explain it was the wrong one and also it was burnt. The food was taken away and a refund was given. My friend returned to the office hungry as we didn't have time to wait for more food. The vegetables from my Thai curry were frozen not fresh, and therefore the cauliflower had this awful texture. The sauce wasn't really nice either. It was supposed to come with pomegranate seeds but they weren't there. When I asked for them the girl went to check in the kitchen and came back saying they had ran out. My colleague's chicken wrap had pieces of tomato in the wrap literally as big as a quarter of a tomato. Not chopped or sliced, just a quarter of a tomato. This was odd and he found it very difficult to eat it. The kitchen situation really needs to be addressed. And it looks like the staff are just taking food away from the pass without checking the ticket if it is the correct item and if everything is on there. Mistakes happen, and the guy was new, that's all fine. But the manager did not deal with the situation properly. No eye contact was made, didn't see any smiles, no genuine conversation. The service did not have any personality. Won't be coming back (although we work around the corner). Plenty of...

10 of us attended Slug n Lettuce in Withington last night for works Christmas party. The table setting was lovely and set the scene for a good night. Our table was booked for 7.30 and it was already very noisy when I arrived and very shortly after that the DJ set up n it was impossible to speak to anyone other than the person next to You, even then you had to shout. A number of our party arrived late so we had to wait 30 mins for them but our pre ordered food did not arrive for another 40 minutes. My soufle was ok but others left their soup which was served with ridiculously large chunks of bread whilst the salmon was served with none. I had steak, it was cooked medium rare as I had requested and served as 2 separate pieces 1 of which I was able to eat the other I couldn't cut it was so tough, I mentioned this to the waitress whose response was oh, no apology. The people who had turkey found it dry as if all elements had been under hot lights too long. No one actually finished their deserts as the ice cream n Christmas pud had strange after tastes the cheese cake was too sweet with same strange after taste; even those who had chocolate pud didn't finish it. To top it off we were next to entrance doors on a very cold night and this was constantly being held open for people entering or popping out for a smoke. The side door would make a better entrance for diners on cold nights. All in all I would only give 5/10...

we went for mother's day just over a week ago. the food was great when it finally arrived. but we waited 40 mins just for our drinks. no fancy cocktails so I think we must have been over looked as we watched cocktails being made but no diet cokes. most of the menu wasn't available on the app and then after 15 mins we were told that even that wasn't available and we had to change our order. so don't look at the menu as most of it isn't there and the food on the app that's available is likely to be unavailable anyway. so almost everyone was disappointed and thirsty. we ordered via the app which is a pain to do but means there's no problem with splitting the bill but we all ordered draught coke and two arrived and 15mins later tiny bottles of coffee arrived for the rest. the place was half empty (mothers day id have expected it to be heaving) so word has obviously got out they have no food or staff. I went over to beg for our drinks and had to wait while 4 cocktails were made which took two members of staff over 5 mins. we may try the slug and lettuce some where else as when we got food it was lovely but the sweets were a let down. no cream or ice cream on any of them. staff were lovely if a little sparse. organisation of that organisation...
