The Original Third Eye. First of all me & my family love this restaurant so much. It's spectacular! After recommend by a family friend many years ago, we've been coming for years since. We have seen this restaurant grow and push it's self to it's best version of its self. Over these years the service has always been the key focus. The staff are warming and very caring. They'll always cater for anyone. They show the passion for the food they serve and this as a big of a fan of Nepali & Indian cooking that I am, I love to see. The level of flavour in the food has reached new heights. The balance and use of spices is paramount in their dishes. It really comes across. Every time we've been we are impressed with how fresh the food is. With all that praise said the one thing we enjoy as a family about this restaurant so much is the portions and value for money. We can enjoy a meal in the restaurant, order a main each and two side vegetables. And we'll always have enough to take home and enjoy for a second time the following day. Value is what drives many minds in this modern day climate and The Third Eye is at the forefront and they seem to acknowledge this. With every review one piece of critism. The starters could be elevated to new levels I think. What I don't like about most places is the side salads. They lack freshness & creativity. Get rid or Uplevel them! I think what would be great with a lot of your starters is an accompanied chutney, as a lot of them are dry dishes. The salad could be up levelled with fruit, or topped with small Indian/Nepali spiced seeds for example. The originality of flavour, Service, & value we'll always be back. Consistency is what drives me to saying that. Best restaurant in Didsbury hands down, best in Manchester? Well I don't know because I haven't been to every in Manchester. But can i imagine a curry house that has better flavour, service and value ratio? No I can't!!

It was our first time trying this place, coming from London we wanted to find an Indian restaurant. We ordered third eye mix grill for starters but a lot of the marinate was quite spicy for my liking and it came with nan bread only that they had forgotten Untill we had to remind them when we got our main course. The dips that comes with papadum was so spicy, we are more used to the mint sauce not being spice at all as this would help calm my palette when eating spicy food same goes for the onion salad and again this was also very spicy which I left behind. The papadum had seeds only to find out at the end of the meal it was suppose to be healthy option of papadoms and instead of frying its baked which I didn't mind at all however I do believe this should be made clearer on the menu and we were expecting the frying papadums but do believe when we got serve papadum it needed to be cooked ALOT longer as I'm sure papadum shouldn't have any bubbles. The curry dishes was nice, lots of flavour, we ordered lamb chops masala, with , chicken madras with boiled rice, dal, veg rice and sag chicken which all was very tasty. We tried their home made mango kulfi which was the best part, it not too sweet and bit salty but also refreshing, I highly recommend to try this dessert. We found out that this place is trying to make eating out healthier so they use less oil to cook with. Not bad and would try this place again and try other dishes. If you can see the photos I've taken you can see hardly any oil floating above the curry sauce. We did find the service was slow, they opened late and had a mop and smell of bleach right at the front door. Other than that food was tasty.

Nestled in between the pubs and bars of Didsbury village, this understated restaurant is a firm favourite with the locals, simply because the food is ridiculously good. Family run by her husband wife and their son they’ve been in the restaurant game for many many many years having come from parents have also got a very well established Indian restaurant not far away . With a limited number of tables and a very understated ambience and lovely calm atmosphere smiley upbeat service and amazing tasty food is what keeps people coming back over and over again . I highly recommend you explain to the white staff. What kind of food do you like so they can make sure that what you receive is tailored to your preferences. We had three starters, enjoying the chicken momos King prawns Punjabi fish Mains: Seafood medley with cod, shrimp and king prawn Chilli chicken Boiled rice Plain naan, garlic naan, peshwari naan We were too full to eat anything else after this, and actually ended up taking some of our food home in takeaway boxes Would I hear again? Absolutely yes. My stomach is exceedingly happy with the amazing spices. Also treat yourself to the Poppadoms The assortment of pickles that you get absolutely amazing

Had great service in the past, and left a glowing review before. But really unhappy tonight. Angry even.

We had a delivery order via deliveroo, and it took almost an hour and a half to arrive, and then came without ordered rice. Not the end of the world, but the way it was handled afterwards was completely unacceptable.

Most of the time our orders come with complimentary poppadum. There have been occasions where they haven't so I called not that long ago to just ask/clarify if they're always included, or if they're missing when they don't come - to know if they need to be ordered separately in future. I was told they're included so that was great.

Tonight they weren't in the delivery, along with the missing ordered rice.

So I called right away after the order was delivered, to seek help. The line was very poor, so I was asked to call another number. I tried this twice but it was an invalid line.

Eventually I called back and we tried to communicate over the poor line and understand one another.

I was told I hadn't ordered poppadum (I know I hadn't but I was told in the past they're always included?). I explained I understood the poppadum may be complimentary, but I'd certainly like the rice I'd paid for to be delivered.

Another lady took the phone, went away for a moment, and then came back and said someone from the kitchen said they'd placed the rice in my order - which seemed to effectively accuse me of lying?

I was a little speechless at this point. Had to repeat again that it simply wasn't in the order. I wasn’t mistaken, or lying.

I was told to contact deliveroo, and they'd arrange for it to be dropped off.

I went away and tried that, but only had the option for a credit or refund.

I called back to explain it couldn't be done via deliveroo, and asked if they could just drop off the missing rice. They told me they couldn't. I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem if I'd placed a new order. Just weren't prepared to help at all, it seemed.

I didn't wish to argue so just thanked them and ended the call. I completed the small refund for the rice via deliveroo.

I'm not sure who's at fault for the missing item(s?), whether it's the deliveroo driver or the restaurant, but it doesn't matter in this instance. That completely dismissive and rude service, to a customer politely calling to resolve a simple issue with an order, is absolutely appalling. It's what's left a really bitter taste in the mouth, and they've lost a regular customer tonight because of it.

A real shame too because the food is always great, will just never tolerate service like that. Awful way to treat your customers, especially a regular. Just completely...
