Very extensive menu yet not one dish labelled vegan. The staff member we spoke to seemed knowledgeable about the menu though (although she did say the arancini are vegan which I very much doubt). She said I can have the veg fajitas and they'll leave out the sour cream. She offered to run to the shops to get some vegan cheese which was very sweet but not necessary. I don't mind not having vegan cheese but the dishes should be clearly labelled. The Thai green curry couldn't be made vegan as apparently there is dairy cream in it. In a Thai green curry?? That's very odd. Fajitas were nice. So to conclude, staff was friendly, food nice but menu needs sorting out as it's confusing.

Disappointing. The food was plain, no special flavour, although edible. As they don’t have vegan options, we ordered the vegetarian English breakfast, without the egg, and vegetarian fajitas. The fajita wrap looked like the ones you buy in Aldi, as did the beans and hash browns (even being told that it was vegan, we doubt it after realizing that the staff didn’t know the exact ingredients in the meals). Unfortunately, they only serve carton juice. Expensive experience for the lack of flavour.

After a long Sunday morning walk with our Dog, we dropped into here for a coffee. Lovely, Lavazza coffee, but most importantly lovely staff. They brought us a dog bowl of fresh water for our dog and also a free sausage for him!! Amazing. The service was exceptional, and 2 coffees were just £5. Great experience all round. We will be back.

Terrible. Food undercooked and I felt ill afterwards. Service was particularly abysmal with the waitress not even speaking once, just standing while recording our order with an annoyed expression. Very rude and really didn’t want us to be there . No hello, no thank you’s. This is one of them restaurants were to get service you need to go up to the staff and interrupt their conversation to get service. Was nearly 30 minutes before we got to order our first drink.

I have been to this place a few times over the 15 odd years I have lived in the local area and generally rated it moderately. However the appalling food and service during my last visit was shocking. Can’t say I have ever experienced anything like it in Greater Manchester

The owner did seem to acknowledge that they had inflicted a really bad experience on us as we left and apologised, telling us that he hoped we would come back another time. Didn’t strike me as heartfelt though as they took the money all the same for what was an incomplete order.

This experience was the only time I gave serious consideration to challenging the bill on grounds of quality, as it’s not in my nature to object in that way when ordering a meal. Having worked in catering and hospitality I have a lot of respect for this industry and also the staff that work in it. I also appreciate the stress and hard work that goes into this kind of work.

Nonetheless I found the performance of this place completely substandard and I will not be returning. It is my opinion that they do not rely (or want?) repeat custom. There are plenty of other places in the immediate vicinity were good quality food can be had with no hassle and were the staff are much...

I came here yesterday to enjoy some lunch and work remotely from the cafe. It started off really well and then went downhill. The two young girls who first served me were great hospitality representatives and well deserved the tip I gave (if they get it that's another matter). The new chef was also very pleasant.

The coffee was ok, definitely had better but passable. I had the chicken panini for lunch which was nice but severely overpriced at £8.45.

Things went downhill when (I assume) the owner came in. Unsure if he has hospitality experience but he was very flippant and I was not treated in the way I expected. Further to this I was entitled to the 'dine out to help out scheme' and when he brought the bill over I was informed 'you have to spend at least £20 to get it' which is not the case but I relented and ordered some chicken wings and another coffee. I eat a lot of wings and I can safely say the wings were really good and at £5.25 were not too overpriced.

The second time the owner brought me the bill he tried to claim I still hadn't made the £20 as hot drinks were not included. As an avid deal hunter I do not like the wool pulled over my eyes. I informed him that hot drinks are included if you do not take them away. He agreed, showing that he knew what he was doing and was really trying to money grab.

If I had left prior to the owner returning this review would be 4 stars (one knocked off for the price of the panini) so you have really let yourself down. It is a lovely building with a lovely space. This could be a real hotspot in didsbury with an improved menu and...

Where to start? It's always a worry when a menu has lots of very different types of food, it suggests a lack of focus and unfortunately this rang very true. For a Saturday lunchtime the place was pretty empty but there were 8 of us and the service was friendly and a variety of dishes were ordered. The starters were ok but nothing special but the main courses were shockingly bad on every level. Firstly and I cannot stress this enough, what restaurant in this day and age would serve you burnt food? I chose the all day breakfast and the toast served was black, not slightly brown or slightly burned but black as in the colour of charcoal, as was the tomato. Equally another diner ordered the steak and this was served with burned oven chips, no garnish or salad, just steak with burned oven chips. The salmon pasta, plentiful as it was, looked as though it had come straight out of a packet and was slopped in a bowl and tasted as such. The quality really was shocking. The lack of insight to serve food like this was astonishing and even though I was desperate to raise these issues with the restaurant I was restrained as it was a double birthday and was told not to create a a fuss. Seriously with so many good restaurants in Didsbury I would strongly urge you not to waste your money here, I've had better meals in a...
