Disappointing Service, Room for Improvement
I recently had a rather disheartening experience while speaking with a representative at this establishment over the phone. The gentleman I spoke to seemed to be overwhelmed with their workload and did not handle the conversation in a courteous manner.
When I inquired about the availability of bones or bone marrow for purchase, the representative appeared rushed and impatient. It was clear that they were busy attending to other customers, but their demeanor on the call suggested a lack of willingness to assist or provide information.
I asked about the pricing for the bones with bone marrow, to which I received a brief response of £1 each. However, when I followed up with a question about the quantity in kilograms and the specific animal the bones belonged to, the representative seemed unwilling to engage further and expressed a desire to end the call due to their busy schedule.
In situations where the staff is occupied with serving customers, it is understandable that phone calls may need to be prioritized. However, if the workload is such that it compromises the quality of customer service, it would be more appropriate to refrain from answering the phone altogether.
The discrepancy between the numerous positive reviews and the subpar customer service I experienced is puzzling. I believe it is important for businesses to maintain consistency in their customer interactions and ensure that every individual is treated with respect and professionalism.
I hope that the management of this establishment takes this feedback as an opportunity for improvement. By addressing the issue of strained customer service during busy periods and fostering a culture of attentiveness and empathy, they can enhance the overall experience for customers.
In conclusion, while my interaction with the representative left much to be desired, I offer this review as constructive criticism in the hopes that the business can reflect on their customer service practices. By making necessary adjustments and prioritizing customer satisfaction, they can align their positive reviews with exceptional service and create a more welcoming environment for...

Read moreWe love this butcher's. They are always patient, knowledgeable and efficient. We do our shopping once per month, so we go in with a long list and requests for 3+ kg of various meats, and they always patiently package it into meal-size packs, and happily offer advice on new ways to cook our haul. Even still, they move through the queue quickly without making anyone feel like another head of cattle to be dealt with.
Apart from the wonderful service we constantly receive, the meat is always so delicious, rich in flavour, and lean and solid enough that half of it doesn't cook away as supermarket meats do, making the prices, which are ostensibly higher than supermarkets', pretty much even out to equal for significantly higher quality. Most importantly, their meats are locally and ethically sourced.
We have yet to find a single reason to even consider not coming back again and again. There is everything to love...
