The young lady at the counter was dismissive from the moment I arrived — there was no smile on her face, and she seemed like she just wanted me to leave as quickly as possible. She kept interrupting me, talked over my questions, and repeatedly said, “Does that make sense?” in a condescending tone after nearly every sentence. Read moreI continue to be impressed by Costa Coffee's offerings (I am a refugee from Starbucks). This particular coffee bar is really well-run. It's really small. It has lots of tables (bunched up tight), a quirky layout... It's always very busy.... BUT the staff are extremely efficient, fast, experienced, and really pleasant (they are older too.... so they can assess situations and needs in the flicker of an eye). There is a big security guard who seems to be there most of the time... (I don't know why... but maybe that suggests a possible downside?). As far as staffing goes, this is one of the best coffee shops I've been too....
