UPDATED REVIEW BASED ON OWNERS RESPONSE Original:
Came here Sunday 28th July around 13:00. This place was our chosen pit stop for a very long journey, so i was hoping for something good.
Firstly and foremost, I was told it would take 20 minutes to make. It took 10 minutes. This meant my food was cold as i had to leave to pay parking.
Secondly, i ordered a 'mango slushie'. This was NOT a slushie - false advertising and misleading.
Thirdly, i informed the worker at the till about my complaint to see how she would handle this. All she did was apologise - there was no offer for another drink, or another pancake, or even a partial refund. Just a sorry. Apologise alone isn't sufficient in this day and age. I didn't want to ask for something, I wanted to see if she would offer. This is a standard protocol that she did not do. Poor customer service skills with complaints handling.
The souffle pancake was mid, yes its a different 'style' of pancake, but it wasn't better or tastier than any normal pancake from any dessert shop.
This place is nothing but aesthetics and visuals. Looks good, and tasting good are two different things. This is the former - if at all.
Summary: false advertising poor response to complaints handling a place of asthetics, not taste
To be honest, i feel like you should at least partially refund me.
Yours truly,
Husnain from Birmingham

ultimately , will you take accountability, at least for a SINGLE THING, or will you be defensive about everything and deflect?

Read moreAfter hearing the new opening of this pancake place, was really eager looking to try. It was freezing outside and a queue formed outside the shop as we weren't allowed in to queue. Almost half an hour wait and we we managed to get in. We weren't seen to by any staff, all the staff were busy behind the tills doing their own thing. Wasn't directed on what to do next as we waiting for another 20 minutes more on the inside entrance of the shop ( staff were aware of this as I saw her looking over) until I decided to approach the till and she said ' yes you can order' 🤦♀️
Ordered three plates of pancakes and three drinks then realised there was nowhere to sit until a small table was available and one of the staff said to retrieve a chair from somewhere to sit down as they are busy and no place available. There were four of us and my kids and I scrambled towards the tight table and sat literally next to another family couple right next to use and overhear her say ' I wonder how long this shop is going to last for like this'.
Another 10 minutes wait, we saw another table and we moved there as somebody literally just left. We were sat at that table for the duration of another 20 minutes and the dishes on the table hadn't been cleared from the previous customers that had left. I myself eventually had to head to thr counter for staff to come clear them. Eventually the pancakes came, it was delicious and soft, lacked the fruit toppings you see on their website and social networks. The drinks were terrible. It was plain milk with ice and a dab of mango puree at the bottom. No flavour. Nothing. The soda drinks were plain Sprite for £4 a pop. It's crazy despite the eyecatching drinks menu they have on there. I am rather shocked how a drink like this could go on sale. Had never ordered anything like it in my life. You'll know exactly know what I mean if you order it.
The staff are friendly there, lots of staff but the management is terrible hence the reason the long waiting hours and lack of routine put in to place for a more efficient service. I actually caught one of the staff busy drinking and eating whilst we were waiting almost half an hour for our drinks. It's shocking.
In the long run, not sure how this place will perform if it carries on the service that it is. People are willing to try them but I hesitate to go back as the service is terrible and waiting time is just not worth it. Enter at your own risk. You shall see what I mean when you go there. Don't forget to try their drinks. A laugh if you...
Read moreOn Friday evening I’d developed a hankering for pancakes. Quick google search uncovered fluffy fluffy Japanese pancakes. I’d been aware of the emergence of Soufflé pancakes and although the idea had always appealed, I was yet to try them for myself.
Accompanied by my 4 year old we headed for a fairly late breakfast opening time (10am of a weekend and even later, at noon, during the week). Located on the fringe of the village close to Piccadilly station, the place was easy to find and we managed to get a parking spot across the road. Better still we bagged a table straight away. I’d had a look at the menu the night before and knew I fancied the blueberry option. My daughter opted for strawberry. We got a table straight away but it was the only one left so the place was busy but still had a relaxed vibe. The lady at the till took our order and indicated the wait would be about 25 mins. I didn’t keep too close a tab on this but it felt pretty accurate. The drinks arrived first followed not long after by the food. When confronted with the huge mounds of pancakes I immediately wondered if a single serving between me and the little me would have been better but we had little trouble demolishing the lot (full disclosure - I nailed a good portion of hers). I’m immediately indoctrinated to the soufflé pancake. They felt indulgent (especially caked in all the trimmings) but without the sense of stodge. As the name would suggest; super fluffy and light.
At the time of writing this place is currently sitting at 4.4 stars overall on google. Given that the place serves nothing but pancakes I thought this was a pretty average rating given that reviewers have precious little else to review other than the pancakes. I consider myself hard to please and I thought the food was great. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. I will say that two drinks and two portions of pancakes coming in at a shade over £25 is on the dear side but in fairness in line with city centre options. I would also have preferred a 9am option to leave us a bit more of the day after breakfast. Though I did enjoy the hazelnut espresso ‘speciality’ drink, I also feel that some decent hot coffees would have been a nice accompaniment. Despite those gripes I left feeling like we’d made an excellent choice and wanting to...
