This is by far the most authentic close as Japan as you can get restaurant I have ever eaten in outside Japan. I lived in Japan and really miss foods like Natto, Hiyayakko, Tamago Kakegohan etc as they aren’t really served anywhere in the west, not even seen them on London, but Yane serves them which made me super happy! The food here is amazing and authentic enough to satisfy my nostalgia for Japan. The service was excellent, the owners are lovely and the interior decor is also pretty cool. They have Japanese noren (the hanging sheets on the doors). No boring typical sushi and ramen here. It’s all about donburi and also other home cooked style dishes, like various picked dishes, tofu, natto, onsen tamago etc as sides. Prices are also very reasonable, it is my now favourite Japanese restaurant in Manchester for sure.

Ok here’s the thing… Obviously this restaurant is a great restaurant. We booked lunch here because of the positive reviews. The team are great, the food is tasty, cooked with care and lovely homemade pickles, the venue is well thought out with some lovely features - booths and kitchen side seating and reasonably priced. However, we were a little disappointed by the lack of choice on the menu…Don’t get me wrong the Katsu, Donburi are great but one or two more different dishes - and there are too many to mention from this amazing country would make the menu a little more rounded. I also understand that possibly the onus is on me to read the menu on line prior to reservation. Overall a pleasant lunch with friends. Nice drink and tea offer £55 for two inc tip

Yane is a relatively new Japanese restaurant that we visited on a whim on a Saturday, and it's a really good addition to the restaurants in Chorlton. Really good food, at very reasonable prices, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere - would recommend! As the photos show, it's a mixture of regular tables and more 'bar' style seating. The menu is made up of - and tasty too! Staff were very friendly, there was a nice range of non alcoholic soft drinks (including sours made in Manchester!) alongside the beer/sake, and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. The cost of it all was very good too & we paid £44 overall for our two mains, extras and drinks, which for food we got etc I think is very good value. All in all, well worth a visit!

The food was amazing and the portion sizes very generous. Thoroughly recommended - will definitely go again!

My teenage daughter, normally a slow eater, demolished hers in double quick time and finished first! I can especially recommended the Katsu Curry - my 5 year old son loved, and ate most of, but when I moved in to finish off discovered that it was much more spicy than the usual tame katsu curries I've had previously and was so much better for it!

One slightly unusual note was that you ate in booths which meant there wasn't really an atmosphere, but I'd imagine it's a more authentic Japanese way.

The staff checked in on us regularly and the owner even did so too! Had a chat with her about the venue and learned that they even sell some of the tea & crockery used -...
