JAQKS Chicken + Chips (Shirley) — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

after reading so many reviews i thought ill give it a go, so ordered the double deck and the mix box, to my surprise and disgust after paying premium prices more then kfc i found the quality of food was way below even my corner chicken and chip shop standards, cold hard chicken, some lukewarm oily greasey, was so bad i thought ill throw it away but them just handed over to some homeless people begging at the lights, i dont know if they eat it or threw it away, but i wont be going wasting my money here again. i didn’t take no pictures of food but i’ll post a picture of my transaction so it dont look like a fake review. i would recommend people stick to kfc or your local dixy chicken, one its cheaper you know what you going get unlike jaqk’s, totally overrated chicken and definitely nothing special in the breading and cooking of...

First time at this fast-food place and i was pleasantly surprised. An offer in the window caught my eye £1.99 for 3 buffalo wings & chips so i thought lets give it a try. The counter staff were very polite & accommodating especially after i asked if the store was halal as it didn’t display a halal sticker anywhere visible. They pointed out that it was written on the menu which was pleasing to know. The seating was nice and spacious & the shop itself was very clean. The food arrived and i instantly noticed the massive portion of chips which could have fed 3 of me👍 The wings were the hot wings and were very tasty and the hot sauce was just right. Gave this place a try today with my daughter. If there's one thing we both like, it's chicken. This place had some really nice chicken. I ordered the 4 piece box. The leg was stolen by my daughter and devoured in no time, she loved it. Didn't look dry at all and the breast was tasty too. The skin wasn't bad, could taste the salt in it, but nothing over powered.

The homecut chips were nice. Even when they had cooled down, they weren't dry and still retained the fluffy texture.

Being a fan of wings I tried the hot wings. They weren't too spicy but had a nice flavour to them. The coating was nice and dry, where the chicken just peeled away from the bone nicely.
