Jeera — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

This is the first time we ordered from this indian based on recommendation and the previous Google reviews. Ordered online and collected which was quick and easy. Entering the premises there was no hand sanitisers in place considering they were busy with people coming in and out. The staff had face masks on though. To be honest the food wasn’t very good. We had poppadoms but they have left out the red chilli dip we had paid for. The chicken pakora was mainly batter with little chicken; the onion bhajis just fell apart. The mains; chicken balti was tasteless and lacked any ingredients. Prawn pathia had lots of prawns but again lacked true pathia flavour. Overall I don’t think we would order from here again and this was quite a disappointing...

Was invited along to friends birthday celebration. friends partner was there to surprise her and left after 40 minuets of standing whilst waiting to be seated. I think he thought he might be served whilst standing and being asked if he wanted any poppodoms. Table for twelve was booked a WEEK previous but staff seemed more interested in seating walk in trade whilst pre booked customers were not catered for. Not very good customer service even if we were not regulars. Male toilet hand dryer was broken, but there was a towel on a rail on the rear of the door for everyone to use. Not very hygenic or respectful. Maybe health and safety should...

(update - 8th July 2024) ** Six Stars! I felt that I wanted to make an update review. We've now been using the Jeera for 20 years. It is without doubt our go to restaurant. For me I can still honestly say I have not been to a better restaurant of this type anywhere and when I do I always look forward to going back to the Jeera. Great food, Great staff and a Great time out.

We visited tonight (Saturday) and although the staff are extremely busy they are professional and friendly at the same time. They will make the odd gesture or have the odd word with you. ALL of which makes you feel at home and in a friendly environment....
