What can I say? Might be best to go to The Delhi! To be seated, have a 3 course meal and given the bill in 50 minutes has to be a world record!

My partner and I have been coming here for almost 3 years and have never had a bad meal or a bad time, however, over the last year we have noticed a downhill change in the place. New staff have come in and hover over you ready to snatch your plate from your hands as you finish eating, you are made to feel almost apologetic for not ringing and asking for a table in advance (not that it would make a difference) and the general atmosphere is now commercialised and forced.

I give 1 star for the quality of the food and for the chefs who always never get mentioned in reviews and the 2 staff who recognised us and asked how we were. I am somewhat disappointed in seeing how different our favourite restaurant has become and how it is now about making money and making sure you get as much people in as possible and the basic service skills are just forgotten and not taught.

From a restaurant/service culture I am always training staff in how to talk to customers and how to be always there but not be over friendly or forcing people and I would need a good month to re train this staff!

I think it's time to move forward or close cause you clearly do not care about your customers!

One very disgruntled regular guest who wont...

Went on Friday night for a curry (party of 4). Booked in advance. Food was nice and came out fairly quickly. However, the thing that let the experience down was the rushed and over-attentive service.

2 waiters hovered over us for the majority of the meal and swooped in to top our beers up the moment we’d taken a sip or to take a plate/bowl away as soon as it was empty.

The whole experience felt extremely rushed and it felt like the restaurant wanted to turn our table over as quickly as possible.

I get it’s a Friday night and a business wants to maximise its revenue but this was over the top and will ultimately lead to fewer, or even no, repeat visits in the future.

Going out for a meal isn’t just about enjoying nice food. It’s also about the service and the ambience. I want to relax when I’m out for a meal and enjoy the food, drink & company. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do that...

We were lifelong customers and recommended the Spice Club to many people over the years.

Fast forward to our last two dealings with the Spice Club, one take out, the other delivery: Incorrect collection orders, which they expect US to drive back to the restaurant to sort out despite us already having done a 30 minute round trip to collect. On another occasion a delivery driver not knocking on our door whilst lying to say they had A refusal to correct an order they admitted was wrong…the list goes on.

The arrogance and dismissive attitude of the management regarding problems with their food and service means the Spice Club has lost our family as customers. Not that I think they care one jot, such is their dismal attitude. Fortunately there are many fantastic options locally, who...

Hidden away on a main street, you could almost miss one of the best Indian restaurants in Solihull. No photos, food was too good to spend time taking photos of it....had poppadoms and extensive chutney tray, shared starter, onion bhajis, for the main we shared a coconut rice, amazing pashwari naan, I had lamb sookha bhuna and the mrs had a veg korma. The lamb was tender and tasty with just the right amount of kick! We had the upstairs dining area to ourselves, downstairs was heaving. The shiraz went down very nicely, there is also a very popular rioja. Say hi to the very friendly staff.

Tricky one to review this one... The food itself was really quite good, as was the service. Plus there were some nice extras like a bowl of ice cream with your bill. However...the sign outside clearly indicated a starter, main and naan or rice for a set price at no point was it stipulated that the main couldn't be a tandoori main, I even asked when I ordered. When I got my bill I was then told that my main didn't qualify for the special. I was not best pleased as that made my whole experience a lot more expensive than I had expected. I'll not be dashing back!

From the name, I thought it’s Indian owned. When I went there they’re from Bangladesh and we had huge chats in local language and the food suggestions were really up to the mark. As I was visiting for work didn’t bother to exaggerate by eating a lot. There were a group of British people who really enjoyed and complimented the chef twice infront of me. Then we talked about Bangladeshi cuisine and it’s authenticity of ingredients selection. Thanks team Spice Club.
