The Hobs Meadow — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

Have have recently moved to the local area and this is my local pub. I have visited on 3 occasions now and on all three occasions I was not impressed at all. The atmosphere isn’t welcoming at all, on the first occasion I went with my family for a meal. Our experience was really bad, they didn’t have the full menu due to lack of ingredients. It took ages for the starters to come they didn’t have any salsa to go with the nachos that the kids had but was not told, we then waited 35 mins for the main meals to come out, I had to ask where the food was and it then finally came. One of the meals I ordered was an all day breakfast, it was not what was described, which I was not informed about and the staff member didn’t even say anything on bringing it out. I asked why there were no beans especially as it’s not really a breakfast without beans, staff member said they would find out but never returned to tell me anything, the manager must have gone to the shop and brought beans as she came back with some but even then we were not offered the beans. This put me off the meal as it was not want was ordered and so I didn’t want it. Again we sat there awaiting dessert and plates were not collected in the end I had to go up and ask if the dessert could come out which I had ordered. I was told they would get them out, one of the staff members then came over to say that 2 of the desserts were not available even though I had ordered them ages ago. We then had to chose different desserts. At no point were we apologised to or offered a explaination or anything. I decided to give the place another try and went for a drink again it wasn’t a very welcoming atmosphere, I had my son with me, but I knew the rule of no kids after 9pm, the manager told me that I would have to leave at 9pm and I said that’s fine. I was then approached 2 times more,bearing in mind that it was only 8.30pm, to tell me I could not stay in the pub after 9pm, I explained that’s fine and that I knew as had already been told. I felt like I was no welcome in their with my son and after seeing the manager and a staff member ( I think brody or something like that) saying to another member of staff you will have to make sure she leaves, I decided at that point to leave as didn’t feel they wanted me there but my partner stayed. He then told me that the private function, one of the children had came in the bar area to dance after the 9pm curfew after making such a fuss for me to leave. I went in again one last time to have a quiet drink with my partner and again the atmosphere was very poor, this pub does not have customer service in any shape or form. The manager and some of the staff come across as if a bit up themselves. I feel I have given the place the Benefit of the doubt a number of times now but I will not be returning again. Very disappointed as has the potential to be such a warm welcoming pub/eatery but unfortunately the manager and some of the staff let...

Absolutely shocking!!!, havent used it for over 4 years & remember when it was a lovely place to eat with our mom as we brought her for a meal on her birthday & she loved it , since she is recently decreased we thought, what a great place to celebrate today being her birthday, so I travelled home which took me over 4 hours!! To meet my dad & siblings to then not only wait over 2 hours for the food which came out luke warm ( my dad was so hungry he didn't want me to say anything) & ate I was still waiting for my meal, my other sister having ordered after me got hers, after everyone eating i complained as I don't want to then sit & eat alone in between several issues going on, no condiments to accompany what is stated on the menu, then told the manager is on her way to discuss who never arrived I really could go on & on & I have have never been 1 to complain!!! So would never ever go...

Went to a function there today. Food great beer great whether where it ended. Considering it is St Patrick's day plus 2 christening functions in the back room there was no staff. One poor girl struggling to man the bar with a que so long she must have thought omg. The bar where we were was unmanned and closed which was a joke as we had 60 to 79 guests.
