COMPLETE disregard of Covid rules and regulations. Not one staff member or bouncer followed Covid rules at all!
There were people who were walking around freely with no masks on, half the time no one told them to put one on and when they were told it was half-arsed and they were told "in passing".
There were 3 groups of people together making a total of 18 people 'conveniently" around 3 tables to make it look like they were following rules but were all in one circle and just kept switching between tables and chairs and just spent all night shouting and singing at the top of their voices and no one battered an eyelid at them, when the manager did go over he clearly knew them all as he was all laughing and joking and catching up on things with them, so clearly he was giving them preferential treatment. Once they left another group sat at that table, again over the limit of 6 with 10 of them around one table, and again were completely ignored by the team to say they needed to be split up etc and clearly the team didn't care about the dirty glasses or the dirty table as this was left and not cleaned but more drinks were brought over to add to the rest.
As I was in the smoking area I watched as 4 people walked into the pub without masks but all the bouncer could do was sit down on his phone and ignore the customers who were walking around. The same bouncer decided it was ok to just sit himself at tables for a chat without asking them, again avoiding covid rules.
What I was more surprised at was the fact that people were allowed to freely walk up to the bar to order drinks, again with no masks and no social distancing in place, and could hug and kiss the staff, order and pay for their drinks and were served before anyone else who ordered through table service or the app giving them priority.
One customer sat at a table and because they couldn't get any attention, they had to go over to ask for their table to be cleared and wiped and they were given a spray bottle and a cloth to wipe it themselves.
From a food and drinks point of view, I would have been better getting my food from somewhere else and microwaving it myself. My chicken tikka masalla came with a cold, rock solid nan bread, cold congealed rice which was like a brick, cold chewy chicken which probably wasn't fully cooked and poppadoms which had pools of oil in them. My partner ordered topped chips with curry sauce and received a table spoon of curry sauce which resembled wall paper paste and were cold as well. We had to wait 30 mins for our drinks to be brought over to us while they sat on the bar ignored and was just handed over with no apology for the wait etc. Not once did anyone ask how our meals were and they just didn't care about us at all.
All in all this place just has no care at all, the staff could not be bothered and neither could the managers who were more focused on serving their friends than following covid rules and regulations.
As a manager of a pub, from my point of view, I am appalled and disgusted by the total lack of care and management and a serious turnaround needs to be done!
I have reported them to Solihull Council for breaching covid rules and I have also informed the covid hotline on 119 as no protocols...
Read moreThis is my first ever review and I know it's a spoons at the end of the day but I'm so upset and disappointed by the treatment from the staff. I'm sorry this is a bit long.
We ordered a wrap and showed a written message to explain easier the order. A chicken wrap with no Chipotle mayo, as it was for a child who found the sauce spicy, and a gammon with an extra egg. The wrap had the Chipotle mayo in it and the gammon had no chips. When we mentioned it, the staff didn't seem to care at all and said then you need to take it (the food) to the bar and pay for more chips. But the meal comes with chips and the written oder we showed never said 'no chips' . During this my friend had to have her food on the bar whilst she spoke to the bar staff and the waitress refused to deal with the issue at the table, telling my friend she had to go to the bar (with her food). This felt unprofessional and a lack of care. This wasn't what promoted me to review. I work at a bar with a restaurant , I've dealt with busy Saturdays and I know how easy it is to make a simple mistake. As much of an eye roll that is to mention. But it was the lack of care that upset me. The girl with the long ginger hair in the updo hairstyle with a ribbon bow was incredibly rude, slamming the drinks on the table near the end of the night not saying a word and leaving.
But when I ordered my food to the wrong table, which of course is my fault, nothing was done. When I asked my partner to speak to the staff again they gave him the brownie that had clearly been sitting on the side in the kitchen for half an hour. The ice cream was melted, the brownie was cold and crumbling and it very much felt like an f you.
The issue I had was that I felt as though we were polite when we raised the issues with the food order of my friend and was met with an unprofessional response. The waitress (the one mentioned above with the ginger hair in a ponytail with a bow) said you have to go to the bar and pay for more chips (that are included in the meal) and left without listening to my friend. The food was then allowed to stay on the bar, the staff did not offer to put it under a hot light whilst discussing the issue. Then when I mentioned the brownie to the staff, they said I put the table in wrong and that seemed to be that. Because of that almost £6 was lost. I understand it was my fault that I put the table in wrong but to give me the dried cold brownie with melted ice cream when my partner asked again felt incredibly rude and unhygienic considering it had sat on the side of the kitchen for over half an hour now.
I want to mention not all the staff were rude. The guy with the short mid length dirty blonde hair was lovely and the staff were clearly working hard. The slender girl with platinum blonde hair in the updo was also lovely. But I felt incredibly dismissed and the response we received from some was incredibly cold and a complete lack of professionalism. I'm really upset by the...
Read moreMy experience was unfortunate as I have been a user of this pub for sometime on the 17,3, 2025 I was accused of doing something I strongly refute I asked for access to review the CCTV, the police to attend and view it both denied, I was also barred, I have tried to get in contact with their customer service a complete waste of time as no dialing tone and sounds like a fax and no other phone numbers as I have enquired in this establishment and another in Birmingham and both have confirmed this I find it a bit of an affront to accuse people and then deny them the right to defend false allegations, I realise this is not the case with every establishment they operate so just be aware you can be falsely accused with no proper form of address with that I will not recommend Weatherspoons in the past as I have done so and will take my custom to a pub chain you have a right to re dress with normally 10 out of 10 yesterday 10 - 10 and no valid number to phone customer service what a farce. I have since been contacted by Weatherspoons head office regarding this review they said they would investigate and refuse to do so as the manager decision is final even if it is based on false allegations so be warned staff are monortoring customers phone use and then are inventing false allegations behind their backs like Joseph M Carthy did with Hollywood did , I am not fussed about being banned but I am about false allegations if Mr Tim Martin would like to contact me or see me in court I would be more than happy as I intend to seek legal advice wether I act or not remain to be seen I could not be more cooperative please be aware it seems they appear to employ underage staff an admission by both managers and you are likely to be snooped on. George Orwell wrote 1984 as novel about the future and Tim Martin and staff seem to be employing it as...
