I wish I could give minus 5 or 500 for the way you handle customers (May be specific customers). By the way, it’s absolutely nothing to do with your food. I had chips twice. Once, someone got them for me and they tasted amazing. So, I decided to go and try myself on a rainy day, a customer was ahead of me. He ordered and moved aside and I stepped ahead and said may I have a portion of chips and literally was shouted back and said I m still serving the customer. Who screams at the customer in this era?? Have, you not learnt the basics of business that ‘Customer is always right’!! Even if I was wrong, you still don’t get a ‘free pass’ to shout at me nor do I. Anyway, so I stepped back, someone else came and asked me what happened and I just spoke few words and this other gentleman said, what do you want???Really!! First you ask me, what happened and than when I m explaining you can’t be bothered!! Well done guys!! Btw, there was no rush, no one behind me!! Thanks for ruining my day. Hopefully, it never happens to you anywhere in the world, because whatever you did was absolutely DISGUSTING AND DISGRACEFUL!! I wish you guys would have been as NICE as your food!! Thanks. Read moreUsed to come here alot in late 2023 as I used to live very closeby and the food was always excellent. My favorites were the Italian pastas and steak sandwich that they offer.
Fast forward a year later I went to try out the steak sandwich again, noticed also much younger staff the older italian gentlemen that used to always be there was no longer seen. The sandwich and steak was much more dry and tasted not much like before. Was not great. Went again, same young staff and tried kebab wrap and the meat was horrid like something out of the bottom of the freezer they just dug out in all honesty, again disappointed.
Thought to give them one more final shot a few weeks back. Got the pasta Arrabita which used to always be excellent quality and value, all the pasta dishes used to be amazing. However again, this time same young staff members which filled me with less confidence and when I collected the food, I noticed it smelt fairly strange in my car. Got home and opened contianer and it literally reeked of vinegar, that's what I was smelling.
Took one bite and threw it all in the bin. Now this was not like someone put a bit of balsamic vinegar on the top, no this was like the sauce was completely gone off, acidic and sour and/or someone poured white vinegar all over the top.
Never again, such a shame. What happened to this place? it used to be amazing in terms of the Italian offerings. The guy that used to work there would be embarrassed if he tasted what I was given weeks back as they used to be his own recipes. These new staff members have dragged the establishment...
Read moreI recently visited Cafe Max located in the Wicks car park, and I must say my experience was quite disappointing. The customer service was notably poor, and the quality of the food left much to be desired. The staff seemed disengaged and uninterested in their work, which contributed to an overall negative atmosphere.
When I placed my order, it felt as though the staff were not listening, leading to confusion and frustration. Additionally, I was shocked to see a rat wandering around the van, which is utterly unacceptable and raises serious concerns about hygiene and food safety.
I also took the time to read through some comments from other customers, as well as the responses from Cafe Max. Unfortunately, the replies from the food van were terribly written, coming across as unprofessional and dismissive. They failed to acknowledge or address the valid concerns raised by customers, which only adds to the frustration.
It's clear that there are significant improvements needed in both customer service and food quality. For now, I wouldn’t recommend going to them until improvements are made, especially considering that their hygiene rating needs to be reviewed. I hope that Cafe Max takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes to enhance the overall experience for their customers. Until then, I cannot recommend...
