A Classic English Pub Experience
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Cricketers in Oldbrook, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. This quaint English pub exudes the charm and warmth you'd expect from a traditional local watering hole.
Atmosphere: The ambiance at the Cricketers is quintessentially English. With its dark wooden beams, cozy nooks, and the soft hum of chatter, it's a welcoming place to unwind. The decor, adorned with cricket memorabilia, adds a unique touch to the pub's character.
Food: I opted for a classic hamburger during my visit, and I was pleasantly surprised. The burger was juicy, cooked to perfection, and came with a generous serving of crispy, golden fries. It's clear that they take pride in their pub grub. The menu offers a variety of options for all tastes, and the quality certainly shines through.
Drinks: I paired my meal with a Jack Daniels and Cola, which was expertly mixed. The drink had just the right balance of flavors, making it a perfect companion to my meal. The Cricketers offers a well-stocked bar with a variety of choices to suit your preferences.
Service: The staff at Cricketers were attentive and friendly. They made sure my dining experience was enjoyable, and their knowledge of the menu and drink selections was evident.
Overall, the Cricketers in Oldbrook offers a classic English pub experience. Whether you're looking for a hearty meal, a well-poured drink, or a cozy atmosphere to relax in, this pub delivers. I'll be returning to savor more of their offerings in the future. It's a hidden gem in Oldbrook, and I highly recommend it to locals and...
Read moreCame here this evening with a group of friends, for a chilled night out. The food was great pub grub, lots of delicious options on the menu and really good value! We found the fact that the pool table allows card such a positive for us who didn’t bring change but fancied a game or two. They had a Darts board which we enjoyed for free, in the same area as well. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the lovely bar staff, Jacob & Abbie, gave us 3 free cocktails to try for potential new menu options - which was a super friendly surprise!
We later got to know Jacob & Abbie a bit more and generally felt so welcomed by them both, chit chatting, letting us play our own music towards the end of the night, and our friends have all mutually decided it’s now our new favourite local! Not to mention they have their beautiful puppy Reggie who came out to play, he was beautifully trained & just gorgeous. In line with little Reggie, they welcome doggies with open paws, and have a station of toys, treats and things to purchase for them at a very reasonable price - which we absolutely loved.
Absolutely no idea how this place was so quiet on bank holiday Saturday as we had such a positive experience! Can’t wait to go back for another games night and to see Reggie and the lovely staff...
Read moreWe (10 adults & 1 child)went there for our Xmas day meal yesterday and OMG never again!. It was absolutely disgraceful! Not only was there 1 member of staff serving behind the bar, the food was atrocious! We were there from 1pm and by 2.20pm they had only just started to bring the starters out to us. We however had had a glimpse of the chef when he came out of the kitchen and he was dirty, his chef coat was a horrible shade of grey/white, his black trousers were filthy, he wore filthy trainers and was wearing a camo peak cap! That was the last straw we had had enough and we told them we we were not staying, we would rather lose our deposits than give another £20 each for what was being served out and by whom! My mum had arranged all this and it was heartbreaking to see her so upset. The first Xmas she has spent with us in 9 years only to be ruined by this pub! And this is no reflection on Holly who had the misfortune of being dumped in this just 2 weeks ago, the poor woman didn't stand a chance. The whole thing was a complete shambles. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed of themselves charging £31.99 for adults and £12.99 for kids for the rubbish being...
