I went there for collection after seeing the high reviews on Google. I ended up getting the Thai Green Chicken Curry, Vietnamese Monks Spring Rolls & Jasmine rice. The curry and rice was very good and enjoyed the slight heat that it gave from the broth. Also I'm not the biggest fan of lemongrass, so was not the best I have ever had as it was fairly strong in that department, but if you like that taste you will love it. There are some really strange things about the place though. You can only get certain Thai curries on deliveroo, not in restaurant or for pickup which is really odd. Another being you can only get Thai red curry in one single form which I prefer over green, but if you want red it has to be seafood and no other option like beef, chicken etc. Furthermore the menu on the website has recently been redesigned I'm told by staff, its really bad, no pdf just a bunch of pictures you have to click through. In the end I just resorted to reading the deliveroo menu and then placed a pickup order over the phone. On an ending note the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was generally good hence why I decided to give it 5 stars. I acknowledge and understand its not even the branch franchise owners fault for the small gripes I have, its the high level owners for the weird selections/rules they have enforced upon them. Also i just want to mention please, please, please stay away from the Vietnamese Monks Spring Rolls (see pic). They cost me £6.45 and you get 4 tiny morsels. They are literally bog standard vegetable spring rolls (forget the fancy name) that you can get from any Chinese takeout. Comparatively I can get 8 pcs for 3.50 at my local that taste exactly the same for half the price & double the amount given. Daylight robbery at its finest. Anyhow the weird stuff aside I will be back because the staff are great and the menu is pretty large so I have a lot more to try. I just hope next time I visit the senior management does their franchise partners a favour and sorts out all that nonsense that I described.

First time at this particular Banana Tree as we were in the area. Frankly, disappointing and a complete waste of money and time co siderig it was raining like mad and windy as hell! We waited by the "wait here to be seated" for around 5 minutes while we watched staff stand around and chat, looking towards us before continuing carry on with their conversation, etc. The chap who finally approached us was rude to the wife from the off. Seemed like he didn't want to be there? When asked if you had a table for two, his response was (aggressively) "excuse me"! He then went on to put us at a table we weren't happy about considering there were atleast half a dozen empty tables, however we were told they're booked (no one sat on them during the hour we were there????), not sure if those bookings were in his head or written on his hand! The mains arrived before the starters, a strange way of serving. The starters followed shortly after! The dishes were tasteless and a disappointment. We also asked questions relating to dietary constraints but the staff hadn't a clue, stating "I'm not aware if it has or doesn't have" and "you'll need to check for yourself". The manager finally tried to soften the blow towards the end when we were ordering the dessert. Frankly, it was a little too late and a joke! I would never recommend this place, considering we run a travel company and normally advertise "must visits" etc. when ever we're visiting any city/town etc. I would rather have driven to London to eat at the Soho branch. 🤯😤😡

Came with high expectations after our experience at the Chelmsford branch, however were disappointed. The vietnamese coffee we looked forward to wasn't served at this branch and neither did they have the instore made special chilli sauce. Our food was lacking in authenticity and the flavours a little lacking really. Out of the five different waiters/waitresses serving our table, only two were seemed to know about table service and the menu. One of the waitresses didn't know the names of any of the dishes and didn't seem to care to know or where people's heads are situated when serving food. No accidents happened luckily. The pandan pancakes were nice, the blackened monk noodles and Jawa chicken (no pictures) was also alright. I booked it last minute for a large group online with special requests ( did require a £20 deposit which wasn't charged unless of no-show) and it was very nice of the restaurant to accommodate us. This branch had some cool swing chairs and the lower table seats as well. No complaints about hygiene, everything was nice and clean. At the time we went, it was still fine for dinner with young children. Note: female toliets are one floor up.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Myself and my partner went to Banana Tree MK yesterday and can safely say we will never go again! We booked and a table and were seated swiftly. We ordered our food - I’m gluten free and had checked the menu before hand. Once ordered the manager came over and advised one of my dishes may contain traces of gluten I advised that was ok as I’m intolerant not allergic. She then proceeded to tell us how all the food is in ready made packages and nothing is actually cooked in the restaurant just reheated and presented which I must say really put me off. We waited a little while longer and my partners food arrived, 10 minutes later my food still hadn’t arrived. We asked were it was and were told it had never been put through, that the manager had cancelled my order but they will rush it through now. 20 minutes later we were still waiting. My partner got up to tell the manager we were leaving when he was greeted with the worst attitude I had ever seen in a person. She rolled her eyes muttered under her breath slammed the receipt down asking him to pay for food that we didn’t even receive ! If that’s how the manager behaves the staff have no hope. Horrendous experience that could have ruined our evening! Don’t waste your time going here go to the restaurant opposite called De Roka -...
