Harvester Eastlake Milton Keynes — Restaurant in Milton Keynes

Our visit was pre booked as a Christmas treat for our family. Upon entering we were met by whom I assumed to be the manager & I complimented his Christmas shirt, all I got was a sideways glance. We were let to our table and despite prebooking a high chair during our online request. We ordered our meal, options of out of stock items were not informed until after our orders headed to the kitchen. The food arrived really quickly and apart from semi cold items it wad very tasty. Nobody checked shortly after arrival of food to see if everything was OK as usual. The rolls on the salad were just plain awful and seemed to have been previously frozen.

We ordered our children's afters that arrived quickly too. We tried several times to ask our server for a coffee but if I didn't know any better I'd have said gmhe was deaf and needed to lip read, not ideal when you don't look at the customers.

Whilst our children were eating their desert the waiter bought out bill over and handed it to my partner without previously asking if we wanted anything else, were we happy with everything or if we even wanted the bill yet! This was considered quite rude and took as all aback. I took the bill to the manager gor an adjustment then paid. To add insult to the experience we were due 97p change, not a lot I know but the waiter decided to just keep it. Last time I checked that's called theft. Our whole experience was marred with these events and quite frankly ruined the evening out. As I'm in Googles top 10% I know a good place from a poor one so will be leaving my review...

I had booked the holiday inn as it was my sisters 60th birthday they live in Milton Keynes and invited them to a Neal on me for that reason. All seemed okay ordered food my mother had fillet steak my sister had chicken and I had fish and chips when it arrived my mums looked okay accept for a massive lump of tomato that was not cooked my sisters was okay not many chips as she had opted for no veg so looked a bit lost as chicken and chips was very small and my fish and chips that was may I say looked like it was cooked hours ago and was solid so I asked for it to be replaced. After 10 minutes my mother and sister had nearly finished I asked for the manager who then appeared with fish and chips I was so annoyed by then I said there finished and that I didn't want it. Had he come to me after 5 minutes assuring me that it would be another 5 minutes I would have said fine but the lack of information and just it taking so long I think maybe more than 10 minutes was the problem we had ordered wine ect and then mum and my sister ordered desert my mum wanted me to finish her dessert so I did. I went up to pay the bill only for him to say don't worry I took the dessert off I saw you eating it? I was furious his dare he assume it was mine irrelevant. I took it off the bill. On 3rd April we visited the East lake harvester, where we have been many times on our travels, it was 8.45pm when we arrived so admittedly it was later on, we were welcomed and seated by the manager and served by a lovely waitress called precious, she was very polite and friendly, we chose our meals and we're then informed that there was no rotisserie chicken, so the combo we ordered with half chicken was unavailable but we could have a chicken breast with it, as the rotisserie chicken was the main part, we declined and I changed it for mixed grills and said we will have the breasts with that instead of the rotisserie chicken that the grill comes with. We then visited the salad bar and most things were empty and the lettuce was brown, I asked for it to be topped up politely and only the lettuce was changed. Then the meals came out which were lovely, one of us had a whole chicken breast the other had only a half. We then ate and asked for the bill, which we paid, then in closer inspection we saw we were charged extra for the chicken 😞😞 which came with chicken and they were only swapping what was missing. Which sadly 😞 I think is appalling, especially as we were not informed it would be extra to swap it. I don't normally like to leave negative reviews as I know how it can effect business.
