One of my favourite places to perambulate and relax. A full circuit around both lakes takes about 40 minutes. During Summertime it's extremely busy (especially at weekends) and not as relaxing.
Lots of facilities and parking on the Big Wheel side, including pubs, hotels and restaurants. As well as the Watersports centre.
My only gripe is that on the far side of the lake there isn't a single bin, let alone dog pooh bin which is just baffling. 🤷🏼♂️ If this is ever fixed i will update my rating, because really the place deserves at least 4*. Staff really do great work keeping the place looking nice.
Update 10.07.22 Despite there STILL not being any bins on the far side of the lakes for pooh bags, or other litter, i had the most beautiful walk this Hot and Sunny Sunday morning, and cannot give the places less than 4 stars now (@Parks Trust, it would be FIVE if only you sorted out the bins situation).
i am not exaggerating when i say that EVERY SINGLE PERSON i said hello to replied with "hello" and a smile. Well, actually, there was one older lady, sitting on the new benches by the adventure playground, staring at the swans, who looked very... Sad, and didn't offer much of a response but i think she had other things on her mind, bless her. If i see her again i will try again.
For some reason i'm reminded of Ricky Gervais's After Life.
Anyway, the training equipment the Parks Trust have added are phenomenally useful and well thought out.
There's a new Brewer's Fayre just the other side of the WOW (Big Wheel) which looks shiney and new but the Pub on the main strip was already heaving (as was the promenade) by 11.30am...
Read moreA lovely area, that can get very busy during the summer months. There is a pay and display car park, but as I write this it takes card payment only. ( postcode MK15 0DT) Height barrier is 1.8 metres.
Toilets next to car park, although out of season some are closed. There are ones open by the watersports centre but they close around 4.30pm in the winter.
A large big ferris wheel to ride in giving great views. 2 x Restaurants. You have the treetop extreme, where you can climb through the trees. There's also a gym During the summer months there are quite often water inflatables which need booking, water sports and peddle boat hire. You can walk around the lake and it takes around 40 minutes. The path is hard and suitable for buggies. No extreme footwear needed. Dogs allowed, although on lead is advised as there are alot of geese, swans, and wildlife around. Off lead ok in the nearby fields.
There are some climbing frames for children. There is also nice water view points from the restaurants.
Worth a visit, but does get busy...
Read moreA bit of a story with two halves, the Splash Park and Aquq Park were absolutely top notch the staff were engaging and more than happy to help with enquiries and the safety briefing was clear and fully detailed, all my children said they understood and felt safe, the equipment was in very good order. But the we went into the Bar and Restaurant, and things went down, the staff where not the most polite, intact I would possible say rude, we were told just for ordering two portions of chips that "we couldn't order food if we didn't have a table number, as so much food had been misplaced the day before" there was no signs to say get a table before ordering food. And when the two portions of chips arrived, well one came on a side plate and the other on a saucer (see photo) and for the price of £3.50 for each plate, I felt this was not an acceptable portion size for the price. In conclusion I would highly recommend the water parks and the cafe by the Splash Park, but not the bar and restaurant very...
