The food was out of this world. I don’t know if it was because we were the only two in the restaurant but the service and atmosphere could have been better. I did not have it acknowledged that it was a birthday booking and upon entering just got a ‘we didn’t think you’d come because our system has been playing up’ instead of even just a hello. We did not really have privacy - the lady serving kept commenting on our conversation from all the way across the restaurant by the till, which is fine a few times… but we felt too under the spotlight! The worst was when my partner tried to tip her as part of the bill at the end - she got clearly frustrated and said there’s no point as it doesn’t go anywhere. It was the most confusing and awkward situation with us just paying in silence after that. It’s concerning if the owners do not give their staff the tips, but also please don’t take that out on your customers. Not on my birthday! We won’t be back. We are excited to try the Xscape one. Update: it’s not letting me reply to your comment but of course - we came on 30 December at about 8:30pm. If you pass on your email I can forward our original booking confirmation. The gentleman who helped me book was very friendly.

We are regulars at Namji Xscape in Milton Keynes, but last night decided to try the store in Wolverton. It did not disappoint! We were warmly greeted, invited in and seated. The store is allot smaller than the one in Xscape, which lends itself to a more cozy and intimate feel. We arrived and ate early (17:30) our whole time there we were the only table which made for a pleasurable experience. The service was tentative and on point! Nothing was too much to offer, even my request for a large bowl of Mango Chutney (which is heavens nectar) was met! The food was AMAZING, full of flavour, rich and hearty JUST the way a good curry should be! We will definitely visit this store more often!

This is how few people take criticism (screenshot attached). Yes you do fry bhatura in Oil but when you take it out and squeeze the bhatura, It should not start dripping oil out of it. Yes, I can make better INDIAN food at home and will make sure all of my known are aware about this experience. If you still think you guys can make better and authentic Indian food, I will make one veg and one non-veg food item and bring to your place to get it tasted by an Independent food critic. Nowhere in an Indian version of Halwa, Aalo Puri, I had orange halwa. If it is not INDIAN, do not say it is.

Dropped in for first time on Sunday and saw they were about to start a breakfast buffet. Food was cooked fresh but for £10 a head was a bit lacking in variety. The staff were friendly. The £5 charge for a 2 year old who ate a few bites was a bit excessive. Masala Teas on the house were a nice gesture. EDIT: It seems the customer is not always right and that they must be made to realise how lucky they were to dine at an establishment, ignoring in this instance the reviewer has their own experience of growing up in the restaurant industry. The potatoes were nice, but other items like the four different types of 'stuffed' parathas, which were the main selling point for us, were below average as they hardly had any filling to speak of and consequently tasted quite similar. To make it sound that the spread was expansive by also counting small amounts of pickle, yogurt and onions present highlights the issue. It has also been claimed the cost of the toddler was £2 since we got teas which should have been £3? It seems convenient to include the cost when it suits to justify the price. Was the tea not really on the house then... ? Just a bit confused as I would like to know how lucky we should count ourselves as a receipt was not offered. We were also reliably informed that our 'plates' were filled more than once at the buffet; we are indeed thankful for that particular snippet which in part was an effect of being presented with small segmented trays. We may be fortunate to be reminded of the finer details what we each consumed in a follow-up response by the owner. In conclusion, a buffet heavy on cheap carbs (ie filler), small plates, condiments being treated like main courses, tea that was on the house and then wasn't, being asked how many more puris we were going to eat when we were barely halfway through one, and not happy with the initial feedback. 2 stars at most in hindsight - luckily there are better Pakistani/Indian eateries in MK which we will stick to after seeing the response...

I love this place great food and staff We have been to India many times and it makes you realise how bad many of the local restaurants in Milton Keynes are with there dishes I personally think this is the best restaurant locally by far The other plus point if you want alcohol take your own as I presume they don't have a licence So consequently don't Rip you off for a drink UPDATED 17/ 03 /21I Ordered last night via Deliveroo Well I'm really sorry but what a disappointment 2 Adi’s Chicken Makhani To be honest iceland do a better one. More Makhani than chicken There was 3 pieces in one and 4 pieces of chicken in the other and really not very tasty Dads Gobi Gosht also disappointing very little lamb and enough cauliflower to feed 3 people naans were rubbish even taking into account that they had been sat in the bag for a while Also there prices have gone up a lot and considering the quality of the food it was really disappointing in India they would have a cow if there food was that bad The Kukkad Kamal Da was excellent though The garlic and mushroom rice was just okay very bland It just seems like the price has gone up and the more expensive ingredients have disappeared I'm a bit at a loss really i don't know if the Deliveroo order makes a difference or they have become a lot busier during lockdown Its a real shame because i believe the prophets go to local charity's I will certainly think twice before...

Visited for first time and tried the Lamb Biryani which was absolutely delicious and enough for 2 (although I ate it alone). The garlic naan seemed to be plain but appeared to be accompanied by a delicious yoghurt garlic sauce. Service was prompt.

This is more of an unpretentious restaurant, bordering on cafe. I quite like this informality but some might not. The menu is not overwhelming so fairly easy to decide. The only thing I found confusing (and to be honest a bit annoying) is the way they list vegetarian and non-vegetarian. I've never seen it written this way, but I couldn't help feeling this is almost like a dig at meat eaters! It's also not technically correct. Vegetarian dishes should NOT contain any meat so describing them as such is accurate. But saying Non-veg is not correct. Many of these contain vegetables. I think I know why they've chosen to write it in this way, but it does seem a bit pointless; perhaps even an attack on meat eaters. Not sure there is such a term, but would this be described as meat shaming?!

Saying this, the meat dish I chose couldn't have been nicer. So while this menu wording does bother me a tad, I would definitely return to Namji and would probably re-order the same dish. Which for me is...
