We took our son to an MCR gig at MK Stadium dropped him off then we decided to investigate getting a Sunday Roast. Spent about 20 minutes trying to get a phone signal but were failing hard. Managed to get a weak signal and a couple of places appeared, as page wouldn't load we just randomly Chose to head towards The Prince George. Google maps worked so set directions and set off. We arrived no more than 10 minutes later. The venue was set in a housing estate but once there it was like you were in the middle of the countryside at the edge of a village. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the aromas of a Sunday Roast filled the air. (The outside is well presented, very clean, with well spaced seating and separate areas for smoking and non smoking). We made our way inside where we first freshened up. We approached the booking desk and were met with a friendly greeting. We were shown to our seats and a server came over and introduced herself as Angela. She was very friendly, bright, professional, attentive and cheerfully lighthearted & upbeat. We were given time to decide our drinks and food orders. Now, generally when we've gone out for dinner or a roast it's taken at least 20 minutes in fact probably more like 25 to 30 minutes for food to arrive, our food arrived within 8 minutes....it is and was miraculous. Not only was speed of service awesome the food we received was a veritable feast. I had the Beef Brisket which was delicious (a couple of pieces of meat were slighty drier than the majority of meat but in the main it was moist and tasty) with all accompaniments well executed. My wife had the Lamb shank which she enjoyed immensely, she kept saying how amazed she was by how much meat there was on the bone and how delicious it was. There was a slight confusion when I asked for extra gravy but Angela got on the hunt and it was sorted asap. Once we had finished our main we were allowed time to decide on a pudding. We both had sundaes The Eton Mess for myself and my wife had a Banana Twix. It's hard to not keep saying delicious but for want of a better word they were delicious. They were served to us by Lois who had taken over the section we were in from Angela, she was friendly, happy and also very professional. Overall the experience was a delight, we never felt rushed or underpressure to vacate our table even though it seems like a very highly regarded & popular venue and were able to enjoy the whole afternoon without feeling like we needed to leave. When we were ready we paid and decided to go for a walk. It was a great walk due to Milton Keynes having been planned out to make best use of space, with pockets of woods, housing, grass areas & having no need to cross a main road (also there is the little tiny St.Giles church). After our walk we returned to The Prince George for a hot beverage, a latte and a tea. We were served by a lovely young man (sorry I did not catch his name....he had great hair) he was very helpful, professional & attentive. And the drinks were very nice...served with our favourite Biscoff which we enjoyed as the sun set around us. In short, heading towards The Prince George was one of the best spur of the moment decisions we have ever made and if we are ever that way again it will be the place we head to. We may also just head to Milton Keynes again just to eat here and work the rest of our day around it. Thank you for your great service, great atmosphere and great food.

This is about the third time I have eaten here. The Pub, Surroundings and atmosphere in it self is lovely and I would recommend this place for a drink, but I have always found the food mediocre. Nice, sometimes, but nothing special. My family and I went for Sunday lunch today and my partner and I both opted for the Three Meat Roast, at £14.95 each, which consisted of, Gammon, Beef and Chicken with roast potatoes, veg and two huge Yorkshire puds. Both our plates were filled, but my chicken was so dry it failed to soak up any gravy and the roast potatoes were undercooked. My personal preference is always to have crispy roast potatoes so very disappointed. The Beef & Gammon were quite nice though. I did appreciate the place was packed so the waiter/waitress service was quite good considering how busy the place was. Would I eat here again? To be honest probably not. It was ok, but for what it cost I didn't feel it was value for money. I felt that the last two times I had eaten here so did give it a good chance.

Man I love the Prince George. As being a George my self it would be rude not to, but I still think there should be a discount for George's 😉 I come here regularly with my family and the food and drinks are very reasonably priced, steak/chicken with fries for less than £10, some nicer dishes around £15 Staff are super friendly, really hard working and want to give real credit for keeping up with your employees standard. I've never had bad service. Definitely one to visit for good pub grub! Fantastic beer garden too, the weather was just not up to scratch on our day. I guess I'll have to go back 👍

I arranged to meet here with friends because we meet up together here and surrounding eateries every 4-6 weeks and I go here for drinks too in between with other family and friends. Usually I don't have any reason to complain, but last night it just fell apart for my friends and myself. The seating was booked and we even got our usual seating area and chilled with air con on a very hot evening. We ordered after our drinks arrived. I ordered a starter of Halloumi fries with a chilli sauce, when they arrived they were ' cremated' I called a waitress ( who was lovely) & she said she would come back to me as she was very busy delivering to the outside very busy area too. A short time and a man in a black shirt walked up to me and my friends said ' il take the fries, at which point my friends and I thought he was a' random man' who wanted my' burnt offering' but then realised he must have been the 'floor manager'? , he did not announce himself. He did not explain who he was just whipped the plate from under my nose!!! A short while I was presented with a replacement, looked better but did not taste of Halloumi the tasty part was the very small portion of chilli sauce.

There was a long wait to the main course, which we put down to the busy outside areas being served with drinks and food.

Finally.....

And onto the main course... I ordered the Lite rotisserie chicken with slaw and fries. All meals arrived except one of my friends but we didn't know why it took so long as it was a pasta dish? My fries were cold, and so were the fries on my friends dishes who ordered the Hunters chicken. My chicken was tasteless and to confirm I asked friends to try and they agreed with me. I left it, although arriving at the restaurant feeling hungry after a busy day at work, it was just awful. My friends pasta dish wasn't very nice although she ate at least half, the two friends with Hunters left most of theirs too. The other friend who had a salad with a steak on side was OK, "hard to make a bad salad and fry a small potion of steak" When our waitress came to collect the dishes I explained the reason for all of my food still on my plate, as she wasn't about to ask??? We declined dessert and further drinks, and It was taken off the bill at the end, thank you! Which came to just over £103. minus my chicken.

I'm sure you will agree this was not a pleasant eating experience at least not the one my friends and I ex pected

I am not sure what went wrong, a different chef in situ, the chef was having a bad day, the staff were over worked?????? I don't know!!!! I will have to think twice before returning again, my 4 friends and I said exactly this as we were saying our goodbyes?

Perhaps the man in the black shirt could have smiled, perhaps he could have come back and checked on us with an apology, but nothing.... It was like our hard earned money meant nothing!

'Service 'as well as' good food' and 'word of mouth' brings people back time and time again, if that was the case perhaps ' The Prince George' would be worthy of it's name & less advertising on social media would be...

Went for a meal with family tonight. Pleased to see a children’s menu and the adult menu had plenty of choice. The lady who served us was cheerful, polite and friendly. Ordered our food and when it came the little one had ordered macaroni cheese (20 months old). This was served in a shallow bowl and some salad. His mum gave the dish a stir and was blowing onto the food to cool it down a bit - the dish then completely cracked in half down the middle. Took it back to the lady who was serving. She apologised and said she would get a fresh meal. The new meal turned up in a different bowl but was half the portion of the first one and we were worried they had just transferred the food into a new dish which we hoped they hadn’t as there could have been fragments of the broken dish in there. Anyway - in the meantime the toddler had eaten something of everyone else’s plate and was not really interested in eating his meal. He was keen to have some fruit and ice cream though which he thoroughly enjoyed. The bill arrived and I was a bit disappointed that they hadn’t knocked something off as a good will gesture for the broken plate but that’s neither here or there. I said to the lady that she has not charged me for the children’s meal deal but had charged me for each course separately which was another £1.10 extra. She said it was because the toddler had some fruit with his ice cream. I said surely you could have knocked that off as a goodwill gesture for the broken plate. She had to ask her manager who then knocked off the £1.10 - really disappointed with how they dealt with this. In my mind quite a serious occurrence when your plate cracks in half whilst you’re eating it! Won’t be going back again I’m afraid- not good customer service from...
