Mixed Experience at the Nut and Squirrel Pub in Milton Keynes
I visited the Nut and Squirrel pub in Milton Keynes last Saturday, and my overall experience was quite average. There were both positives and negatives to note during my visit.
On the positive side, there were plenty of seats available, and most of the bar staff were polite and attentive. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very pleasant bartender who efficiently served us our wine and drinks, setting a positive tone for the evening.
However, the experience took a downturn when a significant incident occurred at the bar. A loud crash was heard, followed by a young staff member storming out of the pub and forcefully pushing the front door open. This behavior was completely unacceptable and potentially dangerous, as someone could have been injured if they were on the other side of the door. It was evident that this was not an isolated incident, as other patrons at the bar remarked on similar behavior from this staff member in the past.
Despite returning to the bar later in the evening, the attitude of this staff member remained unpleasant, leaving a negative impression on our overall experience. It's disappointing to encounter such behavior from a member of staff, as it detracts from the enjoyment of visiting a place like the Nut and Squirrel.
Additionally, I found that the drinks were priced on the higher end for a pub, which was a bit of a letdown considering the average experience overall.
In conclusion, my visit to the Nut and Squirrel pub was marked by some positive interactions with friendly staff, but unfortunately, it was also marred by the disruptive behavior of one staff member. This inconsistency in service and the higher pricing of drinks detracted from what could have been a more...
Read moreOn arrival we ordered drinks to be told there were no wine glasses and had to use my friends finished one, taken to our table which was laid out lovely for then all our wine glasses laid out on the table were removed and we couldn’t use them either. We got our starters and then waited a good while for our mains which when arrived three of our party asked for medium rare and got well done was brought to the attention of staff but nothing said or offered to cook replacement for them so one meal was totally untouched, and other two steaks not enjoyed. Between courses with such a long wait we went outside for air to come back to my seat and where a disgusting kitchen tea towel was left in my dinning place, I took this to the managers attention and he was not at all helpful just sorry must have been dropped! Which this then put use all off as we saw how dirty the towel was. After the disappointment I got a free coffee which after all 8 of us spent was nothing to compensate the time wait and food not cooked to order and also the dirty tea towel incident! When paying the bill the manager asked if I was going to being emailing a complaint and that he dealt with the trip advisor response which I thought was more of a threat to how he would respond! I don’t think any of us would...
Read morefriendly staff However, ordered food using app and waited at least 30 mins. The pub was NOT busy; we could see about 5 tables where people were eating. We had ordered 3 burgers with cheese and bacon, and 1 sausage and mash. When the food finally arrived, the burgers were missing the cheese and bacon, the chips and burgers were luke warm. tHE MASH LOOKED LIKE IT HAD SAT UNDER THE HEAT LAMPS FOR ABOUT 30 MINS. A member of staff came out to say 'just noticed we missed the cheese bacon on your burgers. Will bring them out separately and bring some fresh chips too'. Again, we waited...burgers getting colder by the minute! 5 minutes later cheese and bacon arrived. NO CHIPS! Mentioned to the staff that brought the cheese and bacon. Another wait for the chips! So, we were not impressed. This was my first and LAST time to visit the N&S. Also, in the dining area, there is some remodeling work going on that is quite open to the dining area. Does not look good at all! As well, when we drove up, we noticed the appearance of the building is shabby and looks unkempt with paint flaking off of every surface of the building. To cap it all off, a dog was roaming freely in the pub whilst...
