Visited Sunday 24th Jan. We all know how slow Costa can be but this was ridiculous. Furthermore all staff seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. A couple of families entered the shop breaching social distancing and they were spoken to rudely. Once made aware the families moved outside without question. It was uncomfortable to hear them spoken to with such disrespect though. Furthermore we actually were buying a little food/drink package for a homeless person and innocently picked up a paper bag off the side so we could protect the items from the snow as best possible and handover with minimal contact. We were short of shouted at for touching the āUberā bags (no signage btw). Despite explaining the reason we were treated with disdain after this, with lots of snapping, huffing and puffing. Asked for a kids hot chocolate and they gave me hot milk and when I took it back they made me feel as though it was my fault and the coffee maker (Ben) asked the member of staff who served me if what I was saying was true as if I'd lie about a hot chocolate and even then there was no apology. The guy on the till clearly had no training and also forgot to give my cake that I'd ordered too so I had to ask again. How hard is it to warm up milk and add coffee and push buttons on a till? Every 5 minutes it rays itāll take 5 minutes longer, and Iāve received no communication from them. 1 hour 20 later Iāve received no communication from them and it still says preparing order. Deliveroo chat called them, and it turns out they havenāt started to make the order, and did not communicate this to me or Deliveroo. Iām not sure how long they were planning to leave this.
