Lady with the short black hair on the till was extremely rude and miserable to my friend and I. We requested a sandwich with out the turkey to which she barely acknowledged us. She repeated our order back to us but didnt specify the no turkey part. She didnt even make eye contact just stared solemnly at the till. I thought she didnt hear us so We repeated it to be sure, as I am allergic to Turkey. She responded with "I'm not stupid you know, I heared you the first 5 times" in a impolite and rude tone. If you heard us maybe acknowledge what we said, repeat it back to us or give any slight indication of acknowledgement. The other staff were lovely however sadly our experienced was ruined by one lady projecting her bad day on to her customers. The food was sub par at best. After reading some of the replies given to constructive feedback it's clear that this place has no regard for its customers and this is reflected in the service that leaves much to be desired. You would think that having lively restauant would fill its owners with happiness and pride. Clearly the opposite is true, I would suggest a career change but I'd pity whoever else had the pleasure of interacting with you....

The one disappointing thing is that they do not appear to have a lot of what is on the menu, all of the time. It is not that they have sold out, just they did not make it that day. Perhaps you could cover it over, to show it is not available that day... I must admit, reading the reviews, the 'responder' does not seem to be able to cope with negative comments in the best of ways. Yes a lot of what they are responding to are just people being, well just people, but there is a way of responding. Remember the old adage The customer is always right (then beneath that where the customer cannot read...even though they are a pain in the arse) Seriously though, just because you have been in business for 15 years, does not mean you can reply rudely to your customers, no matter how much you think, or know, them to be wrong. It will and DOES hurt...
Read more3 of us walked in and sat down to be ignored by both the lady behind the till and the waiter, a simple good morning wouldnt go amiss. We had to find the menus ourselves as they wasn't on the tables.
Tried to order breakfast with the rude lady behind the till, wanted to swap the black pudding for an egg and got told that they could cook the breakfast without the black pudding but would charge for the egg as "they dont do that kind of thing here". Decided to leave during ordering as the lady was both rude and condescending, no wonder the cafe was empty.
Reading previous reviews, it looks as though we had dodged a bullet.
We found stories cafe a 2 minute walk away that had much better service and done a tasty breakfast.
