Zen Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Mole Valley

Wow, I have never tried there food but I tried to make my first order was on the phone for 18 minutes everything was taking so long I got passed over to a male the manager I think he was jus blunt and just wanted payment. After the First Lady taking my payment the gentleman got on the phone and said it didn’t go through no payment was made try again I said ok so I quickly checked my online banking whilst on the phone and it had taken the money I explained he he rudely said it’s cancelled I told you that no payment was taken I said but it has come out of my bank? He said no. It was a payment of £20.90.. then we go ahead do another card payment for ££23.90 this time!!?? I say ok go ahead make payment he says no hasn’t gone through again but I check my online banking again and a payment of £23.90 comes out? Aswell as the £20.90 before. So he says il get driver to bring card machine to you I say ok. To be honest I felt so awkward on the phone I couldn’t wait to get of it. Then I call back and cancel my Order and say I want my 2 lots of money you have taken! So realistically If I would have got the chinese (if it come) I’d of paid just over £65 just for chicken chow mein, chips, chicken balls and mini spring rolls... What an absolute joke! Definitely will never be calling again....!!! Such a shame could have been my new local if it was ran by...

I turned up 10 minutes before they shut. They were closing up already as there was no customer on a Sunday evening. I was in the area looking to get a takeaway about 9.45am. On the Google listing, they have high ratings (over 4 stars). Hence, I wanted to give a try. The counter guy was about to leave. I said I wanted to get a takeaway. The guy got back inside and turned some lights on. Kudos to him to accommodate me at the last minute. He even gave me a glass of tea whilst I was waiting for my order. When it came to pay, he realised I was from the Far East. We started chatting in Chinese. We had a very good conversation and I learnt fair a bit how they struggled to run a restaurant. The prices of my Singapore vermicelli, spring rolls and wonton soup weren't cheap as it was a restaurant. Normally, a standalone takeaway would be a bit cheaper. However, the food was tasty with no MSG. I wouldn't mind spending a bit more next...

AWFUL CHINESE DO NOT EAT FROM HERE. I ordered for delivery and they warned me it would be an hour wait which I was absolutely fine with until the food arrived FREEZING COLD. When I called the restaurant and kindly explained how the food was cold, the manager was extremely patronizing and told me to bring the food back to them?! The food went straight in the bin because we had to heat it up in the air fryer which made it disgusting so threw straight in the bin. Then the ‘manager’ .When asking for a refund he told me he couldn’t because he needed to see the food, but couldn’t understand that we had to try and heat it in the air fryer and then chucked it away. He also said he would need to pay his boss? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN. I have full recording of the whole phone call as I was shocked about the way they dealt with this. He always ended the phone...
