I went this evening with a voucher. My partner and I had barbecue chicken wings to start which were very tasty and with a crispy skin which wings need. The barbecue sauce was delicious and portion size was more than ample. The sauce was so good it had to be homemade.

We both had an 8oz rump steak with chips and salad for our mains. Our steaks were cooked exactly to our request and very tasty and the chips were homemade and delicious. A bit of a crunch on the outside and fluffy inside. The food was hot and very tasty, the service was excellent, the staff were lovely and the wine was delicious too. I had sauvignon blanc. Could not fault it and will definitely return and will reccomend to others. It does feel a bit like a cafe but as the food, staff and service were amazing this would not put me off at all. Just want to say how much our group ( front table) enjoyed our evenings entertainment for the Boy George/Pink Elvis night. A first visit for many of us... we thoroughly enjoyed the tribute act.. from make up.. clothes..voice.. sharp wit and sheer professionalism. We were up and dancing from the word go.. even doing the boy George conga outside onto the bricks of Newcastle Town!!! May I also say how lovely the home cooked food was... the ambience and hard work to provide a seamless nights enjoyment.... Oscars is a unique establishment.. much more personable..nothing like the cattle market venues that serve poor quality food on mass...over inflated bar prices and naff disco. Went today for lunch as it came up on my 2for1 meerkats list. When I asked for the bill and showed the voucher I was told that I couldn't use it at lunchtime, only in the evening. As the only days they open in the evening are Friday and Saturday this means you can't use the vouchers any time since they are only valid Sunday to Thursday. So we have just just overpaid restaurant prices for cheap food in a canteen style cafe. Not impressed! For the money paid we could have had a better meal in far nicer surroundings in several other...
