This is a very old traditional pub. It's pretty cramped on a weekend evening but it has a lot of charm and olde worlde ambiance with ancient wood beams, an open fire and nice little nooks to sit in. Really excellent bar snacks which include delicious pork pies and a pick 'n' mix cheese board! So what's not to like? It had a decent atmosphere, even at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon, with friendly staff and a coal and wood fire at opposite ends in huge, traditional fireplaces.
