Great big screen for sports is the main highlight here. Some good looking decor and fire pits for keeping warm outside. The booth we sat in was not very comfortable, the bench is half the size it should be, our party joked most other customers must have half a bum cheek! Only ate some churros which were just ok. Beer choice was from large breweries only, Beavertown and Brew Dog being the best bets for fans of gold quality craft.

Would say this is one of the best summer bars around Newcastle. Big screen showing the sports and other events on. Very friendly staff, lots of selection on the beer/spirits and they light a fire on your table when it starts to get cold. Also love the art as they use a local artists

Lovely venue with a fantastic beer garden and a large screen TV above the bar. Serving nice cold drinks and hot food, just what you need to unwind.

Not a fan of leaving bad reviews to local businesses but this had to be said. We have been here several times over the past few years since it opened and always had no complaints. We went again for the England vs Slovenia game and ordered some 'dirty fries' and fried pickles. They both arrived at our table when they were thrown on the table, rather quickly, by our server. Before he left, I asked "Can we please have a fork?", as the dirty fries were made up of a thin sauce, hot melted cheese, small pieces of veg etc. The reply was "We ran out of forks on the weekend" and he then quickly walked away, turning his back on us.

My friend and I, who had ordered the same thing, were not best pleased with this impolite answer and decided we didn't want to be covered in greese and hot melted cheese and asked for a refund if there were no available forks.

A member of the bar staff quickly helped us and got the manager to authorize this. At this point the original server of our food said very loudly "there's nothing wrong with the food", to which we agreed and explained he'd missed the point. The issue was HOW we can eat the food, not the food itself. Following this, his anger and petulance bubbled to the surface and what followed can only be described as a childish meltdown. He threw his hand in both our faces, told us we "there's nothing wrong with using our hands", all the while he used a very aggressive sarcasm that was extremely rude.

My friend and I were visibly in shock and after we turned towards each other, I turned my head back to see the rude staff member sticking his middle finger in my face. His gesture was about 3 inches from my face. I was lost for words at this point and demanded the manager, who had still not turned up, come and listen to our complaint. Instead, the rude staff member called across the bouncer to remove us, despite us being very ammicable and calm until this point. Luckily the bouncer seemed to be very understanding and could see we'd done nothing wrong in this situation, so he and the manager, who eventually turned up, agreed we could stay.

After that though we felt very uncomfortable and insulted, so we left for the Cluny, depsite the match just about to start and us losing our seats. We will never be back in this bar because of this. This is the most rude staff member I've ever come across in my life and my friend, and I, have made a point of letting everyone in our Ouseburn friends group know about this and warned them to stay clear of this member of staff if they were to ever go back.

I won't decribe the staff member and who they were, as I know the manager knows who he is. I can only hope that some action is taken against him and some lessons can be learned from this altercation. You need...

Went to an ABBA event on 19th July that we had booked well in advance and the group of us had paid £100 in total for tickets. Turned up early as the rain was bad to get a table and staff were extremely rude stating they weren’t open yet and when I asked when they opened they tutted and said when the event starts, despite saying 12 online. The event in itself was absolutely terrible, found a post on Facebook which proves the singers were found online a few days before just asking for a couple girls to sing and it SHOWN! The place was rammed full and no one was sheltered from the rain despite having ages to prepare for a day they knew was going to be wet. Ordered food from the bar and was told my plastic thing would buzz when it was ready, ages passed so I went in to get it and was shouted at by the woman stating the food was ready ages! The bar ran out of Prosecco after less than an hour which was the final straw for us and caused us to leave the event. TOTAL...

Attended the ABBA event today and can honestly say I felt that we were totally ripped off. Not enough seating to accommodate the hundreds of tickets sold at £19.50 each. Some outdoor seating but despite weather warnings for days event organisers didn't have the sense to cover this seating area up until the benches were already soaking. The bar staff were ill equipped to cope with the numbers and actually ran out of wine. Worse of all were the actual ABBA tribute. One actually looked like she had never sang in front of an audience in her life and looked like a rabbit in headlights. I was beginning to think the actual tribute band hadn't turned up and these were a couple of staff standing in. Honestly feel that I have not only had my eyeballs ripped out, but my...
